Things begin to deteriorate beyond that point ;the screenplay becomes repetitive ,multiplies the secondary characters at such a speed it is hard to catch up with their plot ; the writers make up for the paucity of their ideas by making the priest a fanatic setting all the inhabitants against the heroine ; let's be serious ,it's no longer the season of the witch and those people are not morons ! Their escape is totally botched ,besides it's marred by a bland love story between two teenagers ; and the crucified woman (also borrowed from Leblanc) is hardly scary.
