Was originally titled "Are We Officially Dating?". It ended up being released under this title in Australia and Indonesia.

The premise was inspired by Shakespeare's "Love's Labour Lost".

Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan, Miles Teller and Mackenzie Davis were all born in the same year (1987) but were in separate months apart from each other. Jordan and Teller were both born in February but eleven days apart, Davis was born on April 1st and Efron was born on October 18th.

The screenplay for this film was featured in the 2010 Blacklist; a list of the "most liked" unmade scripts of the year.

Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller would later work together again in Fantastic Four (2015).
