No pun intended - and just to get it out of the way: I have not read the (allegedly) controversial novel this is based on. But even in not doing that, the nihilistic undertone (if you can call it that) is very apparent. And you kind of understand the kid who sort of kickstarts the whole thing. At least in the beginning - because while he is right in the math he does (and boy am I "wasting" a lot of time with the reviews of mine - also with many other things), you have to find an inner peace and understanding of what you do and why you do it.
Sleeping is necessary. Your body needs the rest - at least at the time of writing. I don't know if someone reads this in 2121 and thinks: what is he talking about? Who knows where we and what we develop into? Maybe all my reviews will be lost - I wouldn't be there to notice. Maybe all this is nothing ... but one thing is for sure: the movie is something! And it has a power .. it has a force .. it has something to tell you! About nothing becoming something big ... and you having to make up your mind what it all means ... if it means anything ... so many things (and puns) ...

Intet is an adaptation of the novel by the same name, and while I loved the novel seeing it all on screen makes it feel so much more real.
It has also of the aspects that made the novel a masterpiece the ridiculous and funny nature of the pile of meaning, a great cast where everyone feels somewhat important and recognisable and the deep and meaningful narrative with an important message.
Not only does it have these things that made the novel great, but it also has some great acting and cinematography, that helped making some of those really uncomfortable and hard to watch scenes even better.
Overall an absolute perfect movie that I can only give a 10.

I really liked the book, and looked forward to this
adaptation. When was done seeing it, was very disappointed.
The plot is of course the same but, the child actors are very inexperienced. This could also just be bad directing.
Many things in this film happens for no reason and without an explanation. For example, Agnes's sandals were significant because, she saved up for months and worked hard for them. This is not even commented on by Agnes. There are many items in the pile, that lack an explanation for their significance to the person giving it. This also devalues the piles' significance.
But the biggest problem about this movie is its pacing. The pacing is very weird and bad. In the book, the timeframe is an entire school year. In the film it seems to take place, in a couple of days or a week. This affects the film because, the entire film seems very rushed, and because of that there are numerous unnecessarily subplots and extended scenes to pan out the runtime. If the timeframe is a school year, it's very bad executed and the film overall is very affected by this.
The only reason give it a 4/10 is because of the plot and the fact the book was adapted into a film.

The movie starts with an immersion break right at the first couple of minutes when an 8th grader delivers a speech and set of ideas which took Schopenhauer and Nietzsche and Marx several decades to get to. Right after that the other kids respond with an equally unbelieveable idea. The movie lost me there at the beginning.
The child actors do not work well, but other flaws of the movie might indicate bad directing.
The pacing is off, many things happen without a care to explain, sometimes the emotions are completely off and baffling. I get it that the movie intends to shock and sometimes it achieves that but it's wholly undeserved and selfish.
Some exciting and thoughtful narratives, questions and answers are left in the dark, not articulated enough or sometimes not at all.
Maybe this is just a story that does not work as a movie.
