The trailer caught my attention and I gave it a shot, it was worth it!. The animation is fine to me and they have to maintain the consistency in the upcoming episodes.

A good mix of humour and action, also contains some wholesome moments. Hope they are cooking bigger for big stage actions. Aoi (Sakamoto's wife) sure seems sus as she is normal with everything but let's see what happens. The last fight scene of the episode was really good and I enjoyed it.

Waiting for the second episode already and will read the manga in the near future! Hope the hype will get justified in the upcoming episodes.

There was a lot of anticipation for "Sakamoto Days" given the popularity of the manga and the ideas surrounding its adaptation to anime format.

In my opinion, it fell quite short. It's a manga that is very stylized in its details and design, and I felt its anime is far from that.

It's a comedy with shonen overtones, and it's perfect; it fulfills that premise without further ado.

However, the animation, editing, character development, and action fell quite short for me as the weeks went by.

We have two well-defined arcs: the amusement park and the laboratory, which are good, but nothing outstanding.

Because of this, the anime has received quite a bit of criticism.

Still, it has interesting features, such as the bond between Sakamoto, Shin, and Lu, as well as its soundtrack, which is quite catchy.

Beyond that, I feel like it was an adaptation that could (and should) have been much better than it was.

Let's hope the second batch of episodes in July is much better than this one because the series has what it takes and its potential is huge.

Can't express how much I it got me hooked from only 1 volume I read and 1 episode I watched, more than any other media from "Shonen Jump".

This is not your average hero fighting demons with super powers, this is more realistic John Wick if he was fatter and had a sense of humour.

Mid adaption Netflix sold . I'm sure most will downvote because your bias and are scared to critique ur favorite shows, I don't care.

I was so hype for this show to be animated because it was hyped up to one of the BEST new gen animes alongside jjk , and solo leveling etc . But it's just Disappointing , knowing the source. I'm sure some will downvoted because ur bias and are scared to critique ur favorite shows don't really care. People will say animation means nothing but if it's an ACTION SHOW about assassins and has amazing choreography and art in the manga, that's what I expect. It's mostly still images and decent art I mean just look at the manga seriously .. It's 2025 animation is a huge part of great shows. It's not terrible but the manga was just that amazing in terms of those things. It's just disappointing not necessarily bad , my expectations were just way too high.

If you are a fan of anime like one punch man, it's a must watch without a doubt

This anime packs humour, comedy, action, gore, fights, suspense all at once. All the episodes are enjoyable and it's a binge anime to watch all at once

Other than that it portrays mant small details and messeges in every episodes and shows a deep contrast of multiple emotions

Overall this anime is a must watch and as the episodes are going this anime has a lot of potential like others and and storyline is very intresting to keep you intrested, the animation is classy and modern, the characters are amazing, the protagonist are amazing and the antagonist are also strong

I like the manga and do think that It has a potential of a very anime adaption.

Unfortunately, none of the best things from the manga was carried over to the anime.

• The animation is so so, not too bad but not good either. They should consider another styling instead of current one.

• The pace was fast pacing which makes impossible for the viewer to know and feel the character. Anime is different from manga where user can stop, read slow and feel the character.

• The humour, which is the strong point of the manga, some landed well, but most landed badly.

• The dialogs should be fixed to match with the conversation type. More atmospheric should be added to the conversation, currently they are too cheesy.

The anime might have some wins, but it won't be long if current adaption continues.

If I could sum up this anime in 5 points it would be this:

The show isn't the worst anime concept I've ever seen, but it does little to nothing to try anything new or add anutything remotely interesting that makes the show stand out. The Important plots, subplots, and character backstories all feel incredibly rushed. A moment that should have a lot of weight behind feels like just a quick trope or played out gag, so you feel as nothing really significant or important even happened.

Each side character is so incredibly one dimensional and boring I can't even remember to keep track of anyones name or their motivation for why they do what they do.

Don't even get me started on the Bland and robotic voice acting for EVERY SINGLE SIDE CHARACTER.

The only positives I can give them is the animation is it's nice to look at, but that's pretty much it. The action and fight scenes are ok, but very predictable and often played out.

I got all the way to episode 4 and I'm already checking out. That's enough for me.

This anime made by Yuto Suzuki is probably the first Netflix product of that genre that I got to know. At least the first contact was interesting. Sakamoto Days is an anime that surprised me in this first episode, with a well-developed plot and very exciting fights. I hope they keep the level.

I was really looking forward to this anime. Pretty much every blog, influencer, etc., connected to the anime world was calling the manga one of the greats.

Well, what a letdown overall. What we get is an action-comedy full of absurd characters, set in a world of lame assassins, where the main character used to be a god and is now retired.

The concept feels totally average, the animation isn't anything special, and the script sometimes just drags.

I try to see it in a positive light, but at best it gives me some mild weekly entertainment. That won't even be enough to make my personal top 20 anime of the year-so yeah, a huge disappointment for something that had so much hype.

I started watching Sakamoto Days right after finishing Attack on Titan and The Promised Neverland, so I was really in the mood for something light and fun-and this anime totally delivered. It's genuinely funny, I caught myself laughing out loud more than once. It doesn't try to be super deep or overly complex, which is exactly what makes it so enjoyable. It's just easy to watch, in the best way.

I've seen people complain about the voice acting, but I don't really get the hate? I'm watching it in Japanese with subtitles, and I actually like the voices. They feel natural and match the characters. Also, if you're learning Japanese, the language in this anime is super casual and easy to follow-great for picking up everyday vocab.

This is my first time reviewing an anime so maybe I can't say much in technical way .

Watched the whole series this week 1st season 11 ep it was fun, a hitmen who is retired and now running a convenience store also has a small family but there is an issue he broke the rule of the organisation by retiring so he needs to be killed.

It is fun action dark comedy kind of genre. The story sometimes get's lost here and there . Side Characters suddenly come in the story.

As an Indian I get nostalgia from the movies of Rajnikant and some telugu , hindi movies.

But it's not boring if you want to pass time and want an easy watch . I will recommend it!

A love B-class assassin from movies, comics n of course anime. Heck the best is the immortal classic Cowboy Bebop after that Gunslinger Girls.

Sakamoto Days starts out with awesome Cowboy Bebop vibe the classic assassin trope that enjoy giving a example of what he can do, then montage time given up he day job falling in love, marriage, baby comes then owner of store working as clerk just to be kill by late companion the short range telepath killer Shin.

With admiration try to take he's life so Sakamoto can live again with the family, turning into awesome shoot out when Sakamoto appears, but what is raddest goes stopping bullets with chopsticks ke hell?

The animation delivers with spectacular of smoke n mirrors action, love how he imagen the many ways to kill a person's,.

Downside is just star to what we see, cause there gonna go beyond john Woo gun fu, is gonna be while for the premier of John Wick Ballerina.

But there's Sakamoto to see more creative gun fights.

Its really good and if given time we might get something we love and appreciate shows like one punch man. Animation wise, i have no complaints. Not every anime needs to look like jjk, every anime following same style might get really really boring after a while. Of course it can be improved upon. Just a little more vibrance might help atleast for action sequences, without disturbing the overall vibe of the show. And one more thing, animation of jjk feels soo flashy to the point it gets mushy, i personally prefer jjk season 1 animation over season 2. U cant even see fights or what is happening, except for the hand to hand combat on certain points. Most of it is mushy and muddy. Here, animation isnt flashy, but movements are very clean. Deserves an 8 atleast. I gave a 10 to balance it out.

OK it seems anime in general is losing my appeal, it feels like almost everyday a new anime drops it gets overhyped to oblivion so I keep my expectations very very very low. So sakamoto days just dropped today, I watched the episode I felt absolutely nothing its almost like I'm expecting this anime to get overrated after the second episode drops, never really followed the manga either. This review probably doesn't mean anything to any new gen anime watcher, but I'm gonna say it anyway I was genuinely sleeping through this episode and it made me remember how anime was back in the day peak 2/10.

Surprisingly better than I thought it was going to be. A youtuber I was following made it sound like the manga wasn't worth my time but boy was he wrong. I like the characters and the story is alot fun. It's not really breaking any new ground with the retired hitman who was a member of secretive elite society of assassins but it does add a new spin on it. Sakamoto being a goofy but good natured badass isn't anything new either but I love how the writers found ways to make it fresh. Shin is a great side character whose mind reading abilities would make him overpowered in any other series but in this one it brings hilariously brutal comic relief .

A great anime, full of action and humor. Basically, you could say it's John Wick, only in anime form... and about 80 kg overweight :D As soon as I watched the first episode, I was completely hooked and I'm waiting for the full season. It's never slow, never boring, and is genuinely funny.
