Shamaran is a kurdish tale

Adapted from Emine Buzkan Kaynak's novel "Sah-i Mar".

The myth behind the show is actually from Kurdish mythology.

The title "Shahmaran" is derived from the Kurdish 'shah' (king) and 'maran' (snakes). Literally translated it means "The King of Snakes".
