A Table Is as Good as Nine Lives

Very nice short documentary about how family life can center around the dinner table. Director Christina Leonardi paints a lively scene by combining fragments of home-movies from her youth with current-day voice-overs from aunts and uncles featured in the clips. Reminiscing about cooking, wine and Sunday dinner, the documentary gives the viewer an intimate peak into the life of an American-Italian family and the role of the dinnertable at the center of it all. It grabs the viewer almost unnoticed and pulls them in like they are in the middle of it, almost like they're taking part themselves. It's a warm, joyful experience that leaves you feeling nostalgic and literally hungry for more.
