Every country has its special forces, and I'm sure every nation on Earth likes to think that theirs are a bit more special than most. Yodha seems to be the Indian version of the SAS (whether they really are, or were made up for the film, I don't know).
Just about every film about special services centres round an inividual who's jolly good at killing bad guys, but whose disregard of protocol annoys his superiors. Then an operation goes wrong (not our hero's fault, but he's conveniently placed to take the blame). He's suspended.
Then the film moves to the main event. Our hero is drawn into something really big. Not only that, he's set up to make it look as though he's gone rogue, so that even his former comrades are out to get him. Yada, yada yada, shoot-out, big explosion, guess who saves the day and is reinstated?
It's a tried and trusted formula, which needs a certain amount of style to lift it out of the very ordinary. James Bond has this style; John Wick has this style; Arnie had it in his earlier films. Yodha doesn't.
The fight scenes are well-choreographed, but the pulse doesn't race. The twists aren't too difficult to see coming; the hero's relationship problems are a yawn.
This isn't a bad film, but it's formulaic, predictable and - for all its action sequences - pedestrian. Oh, and the villain's disappointingly short on charisma.
This is also the first film I've seen that had an actual interval in the cinema since Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

Wow, did "Yodha" ever deliver! Directed by the dynamic duo of Pushkar Ojha and Sagar Ambre, this movie throws Sidharth Malhotra into a whirlwind of action sequences that are both exhilarating and surprisingly fresh for Indian cinema. The narrative might utilize some familiar genre tropes, but "Yodha" injects a whole new energy level that keeps you riveted to the screen from the opening scene.
The film thrives on a breakneck pace. Each scene throws you right into the heart of the action, eschewing lulls and propelling you forward. The directors are masters at building suspense, with each plot twist ratcheting up the tension. Even when things veer towards predictability, "Yodha" manages to surprise and keep you on the edge of your seat.
The undeniable chemistry between Malhotra and Rashi Khanna adds another layer of depth to the story. You can't help but become invested in their journey, rooting for them as they confront danger together. Their camaraderie and connection become an anchor amidst the high-octane action.
The movie's one minor stumble lies with the supporting cast. The Yodha task force, with its intriguing name, promises a compelling team dynamic. However, the film doesn't provide enough opportunities to delve into their backstories or motivations. Exploring their backgrounds could have added another layer of intrigue, but perhaps the relentless pacing simply didn't allow for it.
Despite this minor drawback, "Yodha" is a thrilling rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. The plot is tightly constructed, with the action sequences serving not just as spectacle but also as plot drivers. The over-the-top climax leaves a lasting impression, solidifying the film's place as a must-watch for pure adrenaline junkies.
After a compelling film like "Shaitaan" last week, "Yodha" marks another strong start to the cinematic calendar, promising audiences an adrenaline-fueled ride they won't soon forget.

Yodha a name that in itself inspires magnetism and people fill the Hall with an expectation of an action packed drama. The film stands up on this measure, it is filled with actions scenes but the makers in their over eagerness have tried to fit all the action plot points that can happen in this amalgamation. Often viewers question the logic and rationality behind the scene. Often the villains and their goons perform stupid actions only for explosive glamour. Often Siddharth Malhotra utters a dialogue which he believes will be a sensation only for it to fall flat and forgettable. Forgettable and predictable can aptly describe the plot and though there are silver linings that account for surprise, mirth and excitement , they are too far few to engross the viewer and hush conversations in the hall. Such plots without fail entice conversations on their veracity, feasibility and practicality.

Don't raise your expectations for this recent addition to the lineup of patriotic action films. While Yodha may not soar to the heights of a Shershaah, this Sidharth Malhotra starrer manages to engage and take audiences on a ride through a predictable yet gripping hijacking scenario. The film offers a decent ride for fans of the genre, with enough action and intrigue to keep audiences engaged throughout its runtime.
The first half navigates its storyline with a fair share of exciting moments and twists. While the mid-air stunts deliver the anticipated adrenaline rush, the plot struggles to maintain the same level of engagement. One of the film's strengths lies in its editing, ensuring a tight narrative that never feels stretched despite its turbulence. The background score seamlessly complements the genre, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
Sidharth Malhotra, in his uniform-clad avatar, with his striking presence delivers a commendable performance, particularly in the action sequences. Raashii Khanna and Disha Patani, add their own flavors to the mix, with Raashii initially impressive but her character was not written well, while Disha shines brighter in the latter half of the film. Sunny Hinduja also deserves a nod for his confident portrayal, though other supporting actors deliver just passably.
Direction 3/5 Acting 3/5 Action 3.5/5 Story 2.5/5 Screenplay 3/5.

Creating fiction can be challenging, especially when it follows the typical Bollywood formula of making a movie on these days single line against a particular area.
Hidden away from the world lies a national masjid, unknown to most especially to the inhabitants.
Dharma Productions, yet again, attempts to promote their actor, who has remained stagnant in portraying only a single facial expression since the beginning.
While the movie's premise had potential, it was marred by an absurd and ridiculous third act, filled with so many twists that even the Mastan brothers would be perplexed by its conclusion.
From the onset, it's evident that the director has drawn inspiration from numerous films but lacks the skill to execute them effectively. In one scene, a sniper inexplicably reveals his position, and his weapon inexplicably changes from a sniper rifle to an assault rifle. The subsequent action sequences fail to impress.
Overall, the film is nonsensical and a waste of time.

Story : The story of the movie is quite good. Not so good and not so bad.
Screenplay : The entire movie is good except for the climax scene. There are some illogical and unrealistic scenes.
The action scene during the 360 degree turn of the plane was amazing.
Not everyone's performance was good. Music is very bad Background score - Needless to say Movie length - Another five to ten minutes of scenes could have been cut Negative point : The climax scene in the movie is completely unrealistic and illogical
Entertainment was somewhat lacking in the movie. There are much better movies to watch than this one.

Plot/Storyline - there would literally be 500+ movies made in Hollywood and about 100 in Bollywood, but based on an assumption that most people dont use logic Directorand storytellers have used even a bit of logic and emotional melodrama is just icing on the cake Keep a headache pill handy.
Sidharth Malhotra - he is not a solidier in the movie he has played a superhero who can dodge bullets from 2 meter distance and ofcourse he can kill many people with his bare hands. He just wouldn't die whatever terrorists do. Malhotra lacks expressions he is better off as a model. Can't say more than that.. Rasshi Khanna is horrible as a task force chief, not at all commanding as a chief should be..looks more like a school teacher. She is weak and emotional in the entire movie Her subordinate is her husband which is a conflict of interest.

Usual story ,predictable twist and turns yet presented in a Fast paced manner with Plenty of Well Choreographed Actions to enjoy
Engaging Background Score and good Cinematography and pretty decent VFX works
siddharth malhotra proving the point that he got the Capabilities and Skills to become Strong Action star of Bollywood !
Rest of the cast is ok ,songs are good !
I don't mind the illogical or cliché story plot ,it all covered up by excellent Actions and Thrills and Energetic siddharth malhotra !
Sometimes actions are enough to keep us enagaged to screen !

The movie is fast moving and full of action. The action actually wins over the weak and unbelievable plot. The editing is so taut, that there is no scope for boredom. Stunts are impressive and the VFX, especially aerial are fairly good. What is refreshing is the absence of the typical Dharma Production song and dance, and unlike many, I feel the music was part of the plot without disrupting the film flow. The stunning visuals of Kashmir and Ladakh are an added attraction, with a great view of Central Delhi. The cinematography is absorbing.
Though most of the story is unbelievable (all MI movie plots are unbelievable) but this movie has many technical suggestions vis-a-vis a hijack, which are perhaps, achievable and therefore, unsettling.
The reason for the rating is the absence and ineffectiveness of the Indian and Pakistani Elite Forces. Unfortunately, because of hyper nationalism, the Pakistani SSG, Black Storks and Maroon Berets who are also well trained and ranked 8th among world elite forces, have been shown to be completely ineffective and even if the character of Arun, played by Siddharth Malhotra is part of something like Special Group (4 Vikas), the character in the second half has been shown to be larger than life and almost "Rambo-like" in the major showdown. Which is unfortunate as the first half actually managed to establish Arun as human and his failures as part of life. Also absent from the showdown are the SPG in charge of Indian PM security. The best parts are the female antagonists vs male fight scenes. The physical action is well choreographed and believable. Alas, the third and last scene of the movie involving the tri-colour smoke grenade is so over the top, visually, that it spoils everything.

Poor direction, story,Unless you're a die-hard fan of Malhotra with a penchant for unintentionally hilarious action films, avoid Yodha at all costs. You're better off watching paint dry, or re-watching a classic Bollywood flick. This one will leave you feeling more hijacked than the passengers on that doomed plane.
Honestly, there's not much to redeem Yodha. The supporting cast is wasted (looking at you, Disha Patani and Raashii Khanna), the plot holes are big enough to fly a plane through, and the ending is as satisfying as a stale samosa.
The story starts confusing, throws us into a messy first half, and never quite recovers. We have a disgraced soldier, Arun (Sidharth Malhotra, looking appropriately stoic), suspected of orchestrating a plane hijacking. But is he a rogue or a misunderstood hero? The answer, when revealed, is as predictable as a Bollywood dance sequence.

Energy level of the story is good.... Story is typical but action is full packed and it will not bore u at all...Disha patani did justice to her role...Sidharth has been quite unlucky in case of box office but his movies has been good...I hope this movie will be a comeback to his box office career ... He really is hard working and I hope this time box office favors him.... He really deserves it...Movie is very good and action packed..

This is the first time I am writing a review and its because of the 6 rating I saw for this movie. This movie has no character building, it just starts suddenly with the plot. The actors expressions are just so bland, no emotions at all. Even the first scene of the flight all the characters look so fake. The dialogue delivery is as bad as it can get. The hero creates a fire on the plane & yet the plane took off and returned without any issues.
First time I saw a movie with Sidharth Malhotra and he was damn flat in his acting and dialogue delivery. The only reason why this movie has got high rating is because of a certain group of people in India who are hyper nationalist and they have given this movie a high rating.
But in all honesty avoid this film, its just too bad.

It may not have done well at the box office, but it will definitely do well in the hearts of his fans. Sid is back with another political/thriller/action type of movie. He has definitely found his niche after the massive success of shershah and i dont blame him for trying to rack up a few movies from this genre onto his resume. He does what is expected of him, and he does it well. He has come a long way from soty. Disha is the suprise package in this and with some meatier roles, she has a good change of becoming the queen bee in a few years. Rashi khanna is irrelevant in her role. There are a few good action sequences and some supense, the later half of the movie drags a bit but overall a good effort and a fun watch.

If I were asked to summarise Yodha in a single word, it would be generic. The protagonist is a disobedient and impulsive army official who can do no wrong and can single-handedly fend off heavy artillery with ease. The antagonists are paper-thin characters whose sole purpose is to spread terror and capture Kashmir(of course!). The action sequences are steeped in nationalism, patriotism and machismo. Oh, and not to mention the physics-defying superhuman stunts. If these are the qualities you are looking for in a movie, have at it, but its tiresome to see the lack of novelty and artistry in Bollywood action films today.
Let us give credit where its due - Siddharth Malhotra is by far the strongest asset of the film, and has a natural aura and charisma that is palpable every time he is onscreen, whether he is punching and shooting his way through the barrage of terrorists raining down on him or sharing a heartfelt moment with his wife. His sheer commitment to the role of Arun Katyal may compel you to forgive some of the nonsensical aspects of the plot. The action is also choreographed and shot surprisingly well, especially considering the modest budget of the movie.
Unfortunately, the rest of the cast does not match Malhotra's level of performance. Disha Patani plays Laila, an air hostess aboard the hijacked flight and reaffirms that her acting isn't still on par with her beauty. Rashi Khanna looks and feels clueless in her performance as Priya Katyal, Arun's wife. The rest of the supporting cast is also disappointing.
The writing is undeniably formulaic and predictable. There is some intrigue and suspense that is established towards the end of the first half of the film. I was interested to see the direction in which the second half would go. Disappointingly, the second half is as predictable as it gets. Attempted twists that fall flat, action that gets tedious as the film progresses and the dialogue is inexcusably bad. It all felt like a missed opportunity to create something genuinely different and unique.
Overall, Yodha is a forgettable aerial thriller that is saved by Siddharth Malhotra's charismatic performance and some decently filmed action.

Okay so i am not a critic or anyone to judge but the movie just lacks to show any relation,
As it can be like the father son that father gas created the task force which is yodha and son is working but it doesn't connect to us;and from mother son no relation is connected;same goes with the husband wife.
From my pov it can be shown that father is not dead but son does a mistake and yodha the task force is dismissed and now his father as well as others will be disappointed with him and now he have to save it and in the climax which is shown un the movie the last scene where hero comes alive should be a different climax where hero should be dead and now just imagine what will it be like.. Please it's just my pov as we have this type of cinema and we want to see something different,, so if i have hurted anyone's sentiments then I'm sorry 😐😐

Outstanding movie great action scene or thiller and suspense super Siddharth was looking fabulous and great acting by Siddharth malhotra (sic),"
Yodha is the best ever hijack based patriotic film of Indian cinema. Sidharth Malhotra has given yet another phenomenal film to Indian cinema like Shershaah.
The story unfolds with Arun Katyal, a proud son determined to carry on the legacy of his father's (Ronit Roy) special task force, Yodha. However, after failing at a critical mission, he is on board a hijacked flight under mysterious circumstances. All evidence points to him being on a revenge mission against the system that has taken everything from him. Is Arun a 'desh ka dushman,' or the patriot like his father was? It all unravels in an action-packed thriller at 15,000 feet above the ground.

Aerial action has been explored by Bollywood in recent times, and to an extent, they have done justice to it, though not compared to Hollywood. This time, they take the hijack story to 30,000 feet above the ground.
An off-duty, once-celebrated soldier gets caught in a hijack situation on a passenger plane, where he must save hundreds of passengers with a failing engine while also ensuring he sabotages the terrorists' deadly mission. The situation worsens as he is framed as the hijacker in the eyes of the world.
The story is surely interesting and has some good twists, which are least expected. It needed more gravitas, as after a point it looks like a run-of-the-mill plot. Additionally, the well-etched plan by the hijackers getting easily sabotaged by a single soldier is quite dramatic and defies logic. The pace of the narrative is fast enough to keep you glued to the screen. The backstory works well to add reasoning for what transpires in the movie.
Sidharth Malhotra looks dashing as the officer, but his lack of acting abilities surely does an injustice to the movie. Though his romantic track looks convincing, it has no value in this kind of movie. Raashii Khanna's character is one of the weakest written in the movie; she feels like a puppet and has hardly anything to perform. Disha Patani is decent, and the arc in her character is interesting.
The action sequences are the big positive of the movie, even though it takes cinematic liberties. Sidharth is really good in these sequences, and the action choreography is commendable. The songs are highly forgettable. A movie like this should evoke a patriotic feeling, but it fails in that department too. Overall, it is an average affair and can be watched for timepass, but do not expect anything great. #pranureviews #Yodha #YodhaReview.

Go watch hollywood movie NON STOP of the legendary actor Liam Neeson. After getting disappointed with Fighter (copied from top gun), Bang Bang (copied from. Knight and Day).... I thought Bollyowood will stop...but it seems like they are just not interested to find genuine plots.
This movie is also a very bad copy cat of Non Stop. Go and watch that movie, it is amazing. Then you will realize how badly this bollywood movie is copied.
Ofcourse they have changed some of the scenes. But some very important shots or scenes are totally same. For example, the message tone on the so called secure phone of air marshall, and a lot of other scenes are totally same.

Siddarth Malhotra from first scene to all the way to last scence, twist and turns in movie are too good. Plot takes turn in every 15-20 minutes in Second half. Not much movies made on plane highjack but it's one of best. Back Ground Music and close fight scenes are good. Visual effect seems closure to reality. Just 2 songs in movie and those also situational songs songs sung by Arko and Piyush both are good , no nonsense movie, crisp screenplay and wonderful performance by Siddharth. Overall no nonsense movie and not a single vulgar dialogue and scene, definitely a good watch with entire family, Good and watch on big screen.
This movie is for those who like action and excitement which it has in plenty and has lots of entertainment for the masses. I am a little surprised as to why this movie didn't do well commercially since there are worse movies which have done better. Is it because of a not so well known heroine and director( s) or because of a hackneyed storyline?. The narrative though familiar is absorbing, the pace is fast, the action scenes are done well, the jingoism and chest thumping is kept in check. It's all about the hijacking of a passenger airliner by terrorists and things do get complicated as the bureaucracy of two countries are involved.
Directors Sagar Ambre and Pushkar Ojha have packed in sufficient thrills in the narrative giving a fast pace to the plot.( I learn that both have been assistant directors for movie " Pathan " which explains their good work). A few developments in the plot are cringy and bizarre to say the least but what the hell, it's all for entertainment. Our energetic and brave soldier Sidharth Malhotra is out to kick terrorist ass and save the 200 odd plane passengers, a few VIPs and the nation. He definitely makes it believable in some situations and is a one man army who never says die even in critical moments. Disha Patani is the flight attendant providing glamour while Raashi Khanna is the distraught wife and a bureaucrat who has to take tough decisions. They have all acted fairly well and no complaints on that.

Low IQ movie who can even think of making such type of cringy movie. It is best suited for second or third class or uneducated people. Some directors are making movies just for money and capitalising on the human emotions of nationalism however
everything seems Hollow in this movie.

Yodha is no doubt an action-packed rollercoaster that blends high-octane thrills but without logic, without a compelling narrative. The film brings together a stellar cast but failed to deliver a cinematic experience that's both exhilarating and emotionally engaging.
At its core, "Yodha" revolves around a gripping story of valor. The plot follows Major Arun, portrayed with good intensity by Sidharth Malhotra.
I started watching Yodha that there will be something new but the core concept of Flight Marshal is copied from Leam Neeson's movie Non Stop.
What disappointed me a lot is logic. There are so many goofs which is not possible in real life scenario.
Overall a one time watch only for Siddharth. :)

Bad movie. Don't watch. Complete time of waste. Everything is so bad. Plot is bad, acting is bad and so is the movie. Worst movie of 2024. Counts give less than 1 star. Why do they make such bad movie. What are they thinking.
"Yodha" fails to deliver on every front. Its plot lacks coherence, acting feels forced, music fails to captivate, and direction lacks finesse. Disappointingly, the film falls short of expectations, offering little in terms of entertainment or engagement. It's a forgettable experience that fails to leave any lasting impression. Overall, "Yodha" is a cinematic letdown that misses the mark on all counts.
