Really like the storyline, unlike other Chinese magic-power dramas, the male leads here don't fight over the female lead. The centre of this epic (the scenes are quite beautifully depicted) is more "career-focused" on how the merman king sought to revive his kingdom (although love-line between the leads is also key) . The merman king (Li Yifeng) delivered a great performance and where he destroyed those flying engines of the enemies in episode 11 (on Netflix) and demonstrated the emotional tension with the female lead in episode 9 (cos of the dark powers taking control of him and also becos of the female lead's push/pull ambivalent behaviour towards him) , those were truly unforgettable (these are but examples, there are many more good ones). Wished the ending was cut a bit more smoothly but overall an enticing drama. The clothes and dragon and special effects are worth savouring too.
