Tales of Babylon

Loved, loved, loved this film. It's such a great example of real indie filmmaking and it's so meritorious for a such a young director to do something so great. It shows a lot of promise for sure. I'll be looking out for his future films. I liked the cinematography also, some very well crafted shots by the DOP.

I really liked all the actors as well, especially Maria Crittell as Mother Nature and Ray Calleja as X, their chemistry was excellent.

The kid was excellent too. I haven't seen a child performer who was so good in a long time.

It drags on slightly at the midpoint but the ending really brings it home, Sergio Leone style.

I am such a huge lover of anything British and this film is just that! Definitely feels like a love letter to the city of London and all it's variety.

Didn't know britts loved chicken so much!

I have to take most of this review to talk about the little girl, because she was an absolute delight. In a different way but she reminded me a lot to Natalie Portman in Leon. Always talking back, not being afraid of anything. She seems like she'll be up there in years to come.

On the downside, they curse A LOT. Too much for me. I also felt like I could've done without some bits in the film, especially around the one hour mark, which drags on just a little bit when Mother Nature visits Alex at his drug house.

They boy who plays x also really grabbed my attention, he's charming in such an interesting way, I would love to see more of him if casting directors in the US are interested. He could for sure be in a Guy Richie film or two.

I had a blast. Just such a fun little film.

Incredible production with an amazing director and team working to create this legendary piece. Recommend to watch as soon as possible. Keeps you glued to your seat as it takes you on an incredible emotional rollercoaster.

Uplifting movie with great funny scenes played out by the wonderful casts!! Great references which I will not go into detail so once you watch it you can enjoy them as much as I did. No spoilers in this review.

As soon as Tales of Babylon is in your nearest cinema it is a must watch!!! Groucho Arts is the production company so it is without a doubt that you will enjoy it as well.

I went into this one with no expectations and I was pleasantly surprised. It is by no means a perfect film but it's much better than I expected. The writing is very good and the pacing is really quick, it doesn't feel like a 2 hour film at all.

I've just read on IMDb that the director was only 22 when he made this one and I feel like that makes it all the more impressive. I definitely don't expect this level of directing from a 22 year old. Again, it's by no means perfect but it shows a lot of promise. The scene in which mother nature walks into the drug lair is so impressive. Basically anything that Mother Nature was in really grabbed my attention. She was great but the camera really service her well. Some beautiful shots here and there.

Found this film on the deepest depths of amazon and was very impressed by the quality of it. IMDb says this was directed by a 22 year old through crowd funding and I've got to say that it does pretty well considering.

It's just really beautiful shot, like the colours are super interesting for a an action film. Very colourful ad light which I tend to enjoy.

It is by no means a perfect film but if you're into discovering new talent this is a great place to go. The actors are great, from the kid to Game of Thrones vet Clive Russell, who is just so menacing here. I feel like I've found a hidden gem, not only the movie itself but the creatives and the actors, who are all so young and unknown. I'll keep an eye out for them in the future because they might just surprise us.
