I enjoy shows that locate in the Northwest , Alaska and now Manitoba but am getting very tired of shows trying to be social correct and hitting us over the head with ethnic drama - almost every Aftrican American that lives in Manitoba works for SkyMed - what is wrong with that picture - it is like Martin Luther King giving a racial equality speech in Sweden - aside from that I am having a problem with the chemistry between the characters - it is at best edgy and at worst non existent - there is no obvious connection and the socially correct mixed relationship in episode #1 was ill timed, poorly done and unnecessary - I am going to watch another episode because of the scenery and story and not because of the characters.

A series that was decent enough,yet by no means perfect or even original.

It was clichéd,plotholes the size of Swiss cheese with unrealistic drama & over-the-top stories.

Casting to acting did seem ok,the cinematography was nicely done & the scenery was beautiful.

Although must say it was like they tried to check all the boxes,from medical scenarios being politically correct,relationships & so forth.

I feel as though medical shows have been overdone,regardless of where they take place from the sky or ground.

If you're bored & need something to watch,worth checking out but not a rewatch series.

I was very excited to watch the first few episodes and see the northern landscape and an attempt at showing the remoteness and isolation. The romantic melodramatic interludes aren't interesting. I find it odd that all the cast are young and confused yet heroic. Only one character, an Uncle is over 30 but we don't meet him until episode 5. I like how the show nightlight problems and issues in communities. I feel the the writers have run out of things to happen so they create mini romance interludes and these are not interesting. I enjoyed the episodes where they dealt with a crisis and helped out. I like hearing native languages spoken. I don't think the writers know whether to make this a northern Bay Watch or an adventure show.

The nurses are full fledged nurses not budding as the description here says.

The medical procedures are far from accurate- you can't give an IM injection through a down jacket and three layers of clothes. Most nurses don't say HR for heart rate. HR is where you go when you're being written up.

The first half of the first season was good. Started to go downhill with more episodes.

The scenery is spectacular looking as are most of the cast members.

However this show would have you believe that 80% of the population is gay. And 95% of people cheat. There are more scenes of romance than there are scenes of medivacs.

All in all not a bad show but it's no ER or St. Elsewhere or even Grey's Anatomy.

There is an Australian series called Royal Flying Doctor Service. Same premises, but the Australian is so much better. If I were you I'd skip this one and watch Royal Flying Doctor Service instead.
