Arya(Allu arjun) and Ajay(Navdeep) meet in an orphanage. Arya is a psycho and forcefully makes ajay his friend. When a rich couple come to adopt a child they like arya and ajay and want to adopt one of them. Arya and ajay toss and arya wins but arya lets ajay go because arya's motto is 'what you win, i win' and vice versa. Ajay is happy to get rid of arya but arya returns to his life after they grow up. Arya forces ajay to let him join his company. Ajay agrees but on one condition that if you are proved bad then you have to leave the company. Arya keeps that in mind and turns into the best employee of the company. At this juncture, geetha(kajal agarwal) enters in ajay's company. Both arya and ajay fall in love with her. Arya takes a step forward by kissing geetha in a lift. Geetha complains but no one believes her. Arya does various things to geetha but geetha can't prove it and is deemed hallucinatory. Arya finally proposes to geetha and reveals that he did all this so that she could know her bad side. Geetha says that she will accept his love if he confesses his doings to the staff. Arya confesses but geetha proposes to ajay. She does that because of arya's behavior and knowing the fact that arya won't harm ajay as he is his best friend. Ajay later fakes his accident by making it feel like arya has done it. A furious geetha slaps arya and out of anger says that she loves ajay. Arya leaves the hospital and ajay follows him. Ajay confesses that he framed him so that he could get geetha and before that he used to console geetha whenever arya hurts her. Arya gets impressed and calls ajay the best lover and promises him to keep this accident story secret. Arya sacrifices his love for ajay. Geetha's father raji reddy fixes geetha's wedding to his enemy's son subbi(ajay) and takes her away to their village. Ajay plans to go but arya goes for him. Arya enters revealing himself as geetha's lover but convinces them that he only came to attend the wedding. Arya breaks the wedding by using a dog. Raji reddy makes arya marry geetha. Arya convinces ajay that this way only he could unite both of them. Will arya be able to keep his promise? Will geetha fall in love with arya? What happens when raji reddy knows the truth? This is till date allu arjun's career best performance for me. Before arya 2, allu used to play happy go lucky guy roles. But in this one he plays a psycho, who drinks, smokes and unpredictable. He gave his best dance performances in songs like my love is gone, uppenantha and ringa ringa. Another best aspect is DSPs music and background score which is also his career best for me and this album is very underrated. Sukumar's direction is slick and screenplay in 2nd half is interesting. Navdeep as ajay performed well. Kajal was okay. Mukesh rishi who is known for playing villain roles plays a character actor in this. Bhramanandam's comedy gave me fake laughs. Shradda das is wasted but was sexy.
But if u compare it with arya 1, in arya 1, allu was eccentric but a lovable character. On the other hand in arya 2, he is a psycho and an unlikable character especially in first half. Also in arya 1, arya sacrifices his love for his lover's happiness but in arya 2 he sacrifices for his friend's happiness. In the former, you will have sympathy towards him but not in the latter. Also the first half jokes were not very funny.
On the whole, arya 2 is technically brilliant and lavish than arya 1 though not entertaining like the predecessor. I love it for allu arjun's performance and dsp music plus sukumar direction.
