It was a good idea...but clearly low budget and unfortunately very poor acting. Really confused on how this has such a high rating on RT. It must be a bunch of people who worked on the film or their friends and family. There is just no way everyone liked it that much. Honestly I'm a little disappointed I spent money on this, but I trusted all the positive reviews. Don't be fooled. Also no where in the description of this movie mention that it's an anthology....its a bit hard to get fully into the movie because each segment seems kind of rushed. Its not the worst thing I've ever seen, but it's by no means good.

First off, 10/10 reviews? Are you friggin on acid + molly + lithium and god knows what else? "Seven" is a clear cut 10, I could waste my time and yours naming so many others. What sad little people have failed to watch REAL 10/10 movies that they toss that rating around like a baseball in the backyard with your little kid, lying to him, and yourself probably, that he's gonna play In the MLB someday lmao. Look, movie was decent, as mentioned by REAL reviewers (not friends of the writers and directors and s***), and is watchable, once, but these 8, 9, and FOR SURE 10 givers need mental testing (again, unless they're working for the filmmakers. Geezus, you'd expect this to win an Oscar with some of this BS. Anyhow, it's trippy, and a bit different, so if you're up late and can't find anything else, and have a jailbroken Firestick, give it a whirl. DAMN CERTAIN don't pay for it.
I watch all types of horror , and this popped up on my Amazon movies I would like. I unfortunately paid the 6.99 to watch it. 1st attempted I fell asleep 12 minutes in 2nd time same scenario 3rd and last time I watched it I turned it off 1/2 way through. Between the Jenky acting, the " hellraiser pinhead one liners they blatantly ripped off,and the spirit Halloween special effects. I couldn't take it. This reminded me of a SCY-FY channel late night movie but worse! Save your time and money and pass on this one. The main characters make up is basically two masks on top of each other with oversized "hulk toy" fists.

Sometimes you see a movie so bad that you wonder who actually thought it would be a good idea to make.
Ordinarily, I just ignore those. But sometimes you happen to look one of those movies on IMDB, and see that it has more fake positive reviews than any other movie you've ever seen. And then it inspires me to want to leave an honest review. That's this one.
Wooden acting, the cheapest possible production values, a "plot" (barely) that seems like it was written by a 12-year-old, this film is missing virtually everything that might make a film worth watching.
If only they'd spent money on actors, writing, and production instead of on fake IMDB reviews, this movie might have been only bad and not totally, offensively bad. And I wouldn't have felt a civic duty to point out just how fake so many of these reviews are.

Algea are Greek gods of sorrow and pain. What this movie does with that is pretty clever. We all have demons, and in this cold world, people rarely are forced to face their own. What if.....instead of death row, the most horrible criminals are sent to be judged by an ancient deity called Algea in a hell-like place.
The 7th terrace.....Algea's playground. If you've hurt good people willingly, if you've caused others needless pain, Algea will find a way to make you pay tenfold. But if you're innocent and wrongly convicted, he'll find that out also. You can't fool a god; he is a lie detector test and executioner all in one. So what would this look like in our justice system?
This movie is really beautifully done but also makes you think long after it's done. A+ on the cinematography, performances, and direction. Really atmospheric and darkly haunting also. Looking forward to seeing it again.

"Algea: God of Pain" delves into the captivating realm of Greek mythology, specifically focusing on the lesser-known deity, Algea. The film intricately weaves together elements of drama, fantasy, and suspense, offering viewers a fresh perspective on ancient lore. With stunning visual effects and immersive cinematography, it transports audiences to a world where pain reigns supreme. The narrative unfolds with gripping intensity, exploring the complex dynamics between gods and mortals, and the consequences of invoking Algea's wrath. Stellar performances from the cast breathe life into the characters, particularly the enigmatic portrayal of Algea herself. While the pacing occasionally falters, the film's thematic depth and thought-provoking commentary on suffering make it a compelling watch. Overall, "Algea: God of Pain" is a mesmerizing cinematic experience that leaves a lasting impression.

With a phenomenal concept and incredible assembly of a passionate cast and crew, God of Pain does a lot with a small budget. I loved the anthology of characters and each portrayal all being tied together in the framework of the Algea character.
While the occasional budget constraint might show through in a small part of a scene, there's no doubt that it only highlights the creativity on full display by the talented director, producers, and actors.
I'm excited to see more from Inglewood Films, and I have every confidence that this same team with a proper budget will deliver a unique, new horror villain audiences have been wanting for decades.

Thrilling, suspenseful, and has an undercurrent of philosophical depth. The intricate storyline delves into the realms of both guilt and retribution, compelling the characters to confront their darkest deeds. This film was a promising debut for a filmmaker poised for even greater accomplishments. An encouraging 8/10 stars, urging the director to continue their filmmaking journey, is a testiment to the potential waiting to be harnessed with more experience and resources.
From a visual perspective, Algea: God of Pain mesmerizes the viewers with its imaginative depictions of the characters' personal hells, immersing the audience in a nightmarish adventure that mirrors the characters' internal turmoil. The cinematography manages to capture the essence of dread and desperation, enhancing the overall suspense and intensity of the narrative.
Moreover, the cast's commitment to their roles, despite the complexity of the script, deserves commendation. The actors' nuanced performances effectively convey the intense internal struggles and moral dilemmas faced by the characters, creating a palpable sense of empathy and unease within the audience.
While some scenes could benefit from tighter pacing and refined dialogue, the film's overarching thematic exploration of humanity's capacity for both atrocity and redemption remains its strongest asset. ALGEA: God of Pain invites contemplation on the nature of suffering and the consequences of our actions, leaving viewers with lingering questions that resonate long after the credits roll.
In conclusion, ALGEA: God of Pain marks a promising debut for a director with a keen eye for philosophical storytelling. With its blend of horror, philosophical depth, suspense, and visual remark-ability, again the film serves as a testament to the potential waiting to be harnessed with the continued growth and maturation of the filmmaker's craft. This compelling debut is undoubtedly a harbinger of even greater cinematic achievements to come.

An incredible entry into the horror genre. Great characters, incredible scares, and a fate worse than death.
This film explores a unique look into the pain of crime and retribution for it.
The set pieces, cast and crew nailed the dark theme with an incredible array of well placed VFX that add's to the story.
The action, jump scares, and overall scary feelings are in no short order here. The film showcases several different characters and various crimes they have commited, all who mistakenly thought a mere jail sentence was worth the crime. Little do they know....... The real pain has just begun....

Algea brings something new and innovative to the big screen, something that has been lacking in theaters for quite sometime now. It pulls the shade off our eyes and opens it to the daily struggles of the real modern day life of a normal person and not what social media will have you believe. It's worth seeing in theaters. The most surprising thing is how close these issues hit close to home and how it relates to us in our everyday life and daily struggles. It hits topics that the mainstream media will not touch with a ten foot pole. But none the less Inglewood films is here to bring new and exciting ways to the big screen.

This film has a unique way of portraying the dark side of society, and it emphasizes that everyone eventually faces consequences for their actions. There are moments in the film where I would find myself holding my breath. The soundtrack effectively creates a dark atmosphere throughout the movie. The actors deliver outstanding performances, displaying great chemistry and bringing each character to life. I have never seen a horror film quite like this. I hope the world gets an opportunity to experience this remarkable film. Inglewoodfilms you did it again i can't wait to see what is next on the menu.

This horror movie is one of a kind. Coming from someone who is not a fan of traditional horror films, I genuinely cannot wait to watch this again. The whole production team did an excellent job at creating a film that highlights real issues in society today, rather than shying away from them like many other films. It'll make you uncomfortable, and it will definitely make you think. You will quickly realize the characters and their stories are very similar to real horrific events that typically slip under the radar. The actors do an excellent job, especially the ones who clearly studied mental health issues and really let those various complexities shine through their performances. This film will absolutely start some much needed conversations!

Wow this movie is amazing!! The fright this movie provides is insane. I love the stories this film provides, also the mask is super scary. I love every single shot in the movie, and the actors did an amazing job. The directing was good, the audio was good, and the quality is amazing. I also love the intensity some of the stories/shots provide. These stories are very catchy and I like the way they put these stories in order. What I also love about '' Algea God Of Pain'' is that we are ''transported to the ethereal realm of greek mythology''. This movie keeps the audience entertained, and this movie is a master piece.

I was glued in to this film from the very beginning and had no idea what was waiting around the corner. Not a typical horror film but the true horror is scarier than your normal jump scares. Usually I know exactly how a film would end by the start but this one had me on my toes the whole time. Masterful story telling with a old school feel or energy to it. I definitely want to watch this again so I can catch other details to the different characters I may have missed the first go around. I was able to watch this at their special premiere in October and I was literally blown away by all the people that showed up to see this film since I've never heard of it until a buddy brought me along. Truly impressed with this film and Algea felt more like a hero then villain in my eyes lol.

This film is an outstanding choice for those seeking a thought-provoking and suspenseful experience during the spooky season. It effectively combines elements of horror with deeper societal themes. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in exploring unique storytelling within the genre. The character of Algea, representing the god of pain, compellingly illustrates the concept of facing the consequences of one's actions, and I find the portrayal to be remarkably creative and distinct. This film certainly stands out in the horror category.
We would watch this again and again which is why we ended up buying the movie!
