Robert Englund in The Moleman of Belmont Avenue (2011)

Writer-producer-directors John LaFlamboy and Mike Bradecich play a pair of bumbling landlords reluctantly hunting the subterranean creature that menaces their tenants and their tenants' pets in the Chicago indie comedy/horror The Mole Man of Belmont Avenue.

Featuring original Freddy Kreueger Robert Englund, and a cast filled with Second City veterans such as David Pasquesi, TJ Jagodowski, Tim Kazurinsky and Susan Messing.

What Masterpiece did I just watch ?

There's no sense trying to make sense of The Moleman of Belmont Avenue. It is a masterpiece of the genre it is in. Just don't know really what the genre is. I found myself laughing out loud at things no one should laugh at. The brothers are believable brothers (had to check if they really were brothers) and funny as brothers are. The bizarre tenets were bizarre. If your tired of the BS hero movies full of multimillion dollar stars, gore, and computer junk, and we should be, then relax with this low budget gem of movie fun.
