Though Louis C.K.'s transgressions were widely considered the worst kept secret in the comedy world, to some, it really was a secret.
Stephen Colbert welcomed Samantha Bee to the stage at Njpac in Newark, New Jersey, on Dec. 6, where she was the special guest on Sad! A Happy Evening with Stephen Colbert & Samantha Bee, a fundraiser for the Montclair Film Festival.
During their hour-and-a-half-long chat, the longtime friends talked everything from dealing with politics (specifically President Donald Trump's tumultuous first-year in office) during their late night monologues -- Colbert hosts The Late Show on CBS while Bee is the face of Full Frontal on TBS -- as well as the seismic shift in culture surrounding sexual harassment since the Harvey Weinstein allegations came to light.

The following recap, by the very definition of the word “recap,” contains spoilers from the fall finale of The CW’s The Flash.
The Flash this Tuesday told a tale of two distinct abductions… that ultimately dovetailed to deliver one of the superhero series’ biggest switcheroos ever.
VideosThe Flash‘s Honeymoon Is Interrupted by [Spoiler]!
Back from their honeymoon and ready to unwrap wedding gifts (thanks for glomming onto our wedding and ordering off the registry, Olicity!), Barry and Iris’ life promptly went back to non-normal when The Thinker confronted them on the street in the midst of their returns-apalooza and ultimately hauled The Flash away.

After a debut season that wrapped up with surprise deaths, time loops and plenty of ugly-looking demons, “Stan Against Evil” is ready for a follow-up.
Show creator Dana Gould joined cast members Janet Varney and John C. McGinley for a preview of what’s to come in the show’s second season. The IFC show is set in the town of Willard’s Mill, a quiet New England community suddenly overrun by vengeful spirits. Last season’s cliffhanger showed that the story was bigger than Stan or Sheriff Evie imagined, but the show would keep its focus on Willard’s Mill.

That final episode also left Evie’s fate somewhat unresolved. Anyone worried that she wouldn’t be returning was reassured by a set of pins that included her, Stan and...

With The Belko Experiment hitting theaters in just a few weeks, Blumhouse Tilt has been releasing new footage to get fans ready for this terrifying thriller. Today we have a new video that doesn't exactly show any footage from the movie, but instead offers a glimpse at what the movie might look like in claymation. This new short film from director Lee Hardcastle perfectly captures the tone of The Belko Experiment, while going hilariously over the top with gore in only the way that claymation can offer.
Blumhouse Tilt posted this hilarious video on YouTube and their social media pages today, which comes from the twisted mind of filmmaker Lee Hardcastle. Back in 2012, the filmmaker was chosen as the winner of a contest for the horror anthology film The ABCs of Death, which featured shorts from 25 established filmmakers, and one short film from an aspiring director. Back in August, Fox Searchlight Pictures announced that production started on director Guillermo del Toro's new film The Shape of Water, although a release date has still not been set at this time. The announcement confirmed that the cast will include Sally Hawkins (Blue Jasmine, Happy Go-Lucky), Michael Shannon (Revolutionary Road, 99 Homes), Richard Jenkins (The Visitor, Olive Kitteridge), Doug Jones (Crimson Peak, Hellboy), Michael Stuhlbarg (A Serious Man) and Octavia Spencer (The Help, Gifted). Fans haven't been given much to go on, in terms of plot details, until now, thanks to star Doug Jones.
The August report only described the story as an "other-worldly story", set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1963, described as a "mysterious and magical journey." With the inclusion of Doug Jones, who has played iconic monsters for Guillermo del Toro such as Abe Sapien in Hellboy and Fauno in Pan's Labyrinth, many...

The Academy took its time finding its Oscar producers this year.
For three years in a row (2012-2014) they could rest easy knowing that Craig Zadan and Neil Meron were in charge, but since they moved on the AMPAS president Cheryl Boone Isaacs and CEO Dawn Hudson are back to trying to convince someone to take on the often arduous and thankless task.
They usually pick a team to split the chores as they did last year with Reginald Hudlin and David Hill, who by all reports, were like oil and water. That wasn’t going to happen again. With less-than-glowing reviews for the last few Oscars, Isaacs and Hudson were looking for someone they could count on to elevate the event.
The Academy has never found another producer like director Gil Cates, who produced the Oscar show 14 times between 1990 and 2008, bringing in Billy Crystal, Whoopi Goldberg, David Letterman, Steve Martin,...

Earlier today, Warner Bros. issued a release date for Godzilla vs. Kong while delaying Godzilla 2 by 9 months. They also set aside the December 25, 2018 release date for an unspecified event film, and pushed an unknown DC superhero movie from June 19, 2020 to July 24, 2020. While the studio has never officially confirmed what movie will debut on that summer 2020 date, it's been widely assumed that it will be Green Lantern Corps., since it was the last movie mentioned on Warner Bros.' Dceu release schedule way back in the fall of 2014. Of course, a month delay isn't terribly significant. Especially since the movie is more than four years away from hitting theaters.
Back in August 2014, Warner Bros. set nine dates aside between 2016 and 2020 for unspecified DC Comics movies, and just a few months later, the studio unveiled their slate of nine movies that will follow Batman v Superman. The studio didn't specifically announce...

Back in October 2014, Warner Bros. announced their sprawling DC Comics movie universe, with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice kicking off a massive 10-movie slate that will unfold over the next four years. The very last project on this list is Green Lantern Corps., slated for release on June 19, 2020. Aside from a brief sneak peek video that debuted during The CW's superhero special, we haven't heard or seen anything from this movie thus far. Since no cast members have signed on yet, many are wondering when we'll get our first glimpse at Green Lantern Corps., and it seems that may not happen for three more years, at least. Here's what producer Charles Roven had to say in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"Every beat of the movie is not yet worked out. So there's the possibility that he may or may not be in Justice League Part 2. For now, we...

Chicago – December 9th is the 2014 second season premiere of “Ground Floor,” the TBS workplace comedy featuring John C. McGinley (“Scrubs”), plus Skylar Astin and Briga Heelan (seen in the film “Pitch Perfect”). Chicago native Cindy Caponera is a writer and co-executive producer on the show.
In a variation on the “Slobs versus the Snobs” scenario, “Ground Floor” is set in a financial company that features a romance between an occupant of the upper floors – where the master-of-the-universe financial consultants hold court – and a worker on the “ground floor,” where the operations and maintenance crew resides. A big part of the hilarity is provided by John C. McGinley, playing a mentor character as in “Scrubs,” but in a softer and gently funny way. The chemistry between the featured couple, portrayed by Astin and Heelan, provides the conflict between the two parts of the company.

For anyone who was a teenager in the late '90s, Ryan Phillippe was the hottest guy around. With bad boy roles in both "Cruel Intentions" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer," he may not have been the guy to bring home to mom ... but he was definitely the one you wanted to meet up with after sneaking out of the house.Throw in a high profile romance with Reese Witherspoon, and these two were like teen movie royalty. While a lot has changed in their personal lives since the two costarred in the Upper East Side update of "Dangerous Liaisons," one thing hasn't: Ryan's hotness. The actor celebrates his 40th birthday today, and recently, Phillippe's looked better than ever. Back in June, he showed off his incredibly shredded physique on the beach, along with his growing collection of tattoos (right). Yeah, it's possible he looks even better now.

There's creepy, there's really creepy – and then there's last night's episode of The Leftovers.
HBO’s conundrum of a drama took a wild, nasty turn on Sunday, leaving one controversial character dead and proving Chief Garvey (Justin Theroux) is closer to insanity than he (or we) want to believe. And, thankfully, there's a glimpse into what the crazy cult is all about.
Be PreparedThe episode opens alternating between Chief Garvey and cult leader Patti (Ann Dowd) busy with their respective tasks. He's preparing a chicken dinner at home. She's meticulously assembling clothing on the floor of the church that her group recently acquired.

In a word: enrapturing.
Premiering Sunday night, HBO's The Leftovers, about a small New York town in the aftermath of a global Rapture-like event that caused the sudden disappearance of two percent of the world's population, was possibly the most anticipated new show of the summer. While disturbing, the first episode did not disappoint.
Reader warning: Plot spoilers ahead.
The show opens with a frazzled young mother running errands with her crying baby. As she gets ready to pull out of the parking lot, the baby's wails stop, thanks to every mother's worst fear. The child's gone without a trace.

Gotta love the 80s.
“Ping Pong Summer” is a good tribute movie to those moviegoers who remember growing up in the 80s. It’s about a teenager who spends a summer at the beach in Ocean City in 1985. It combines the tributes of arcade games, young teen love, hip hop and of course—ping pong.
The film has great veteran actors like Susan Sarandon, Lea Thompson, Amy Sedaris and John Hannah. It also features the young actors of Marcello Conte, Myles Massey and Emmi Shockley.
Latino-Review had an extended exclusive phone interview with director Michael Tully. We discussed in significant detail about the production, the actors, the music and the love of the 1980s.

I interviewed "Undateable" executive producer Bill Lawrence and Adam Sztykiel at a noisy bar in Pasadena shortly before a press conference in mid-April. Going back and transcribing the 35-minute interview is bittersweet. At the time, Lawrence had two shows in limbo -- TBS' "Cougar Town" and Fox's newly premiered "Surviving Jack," which he EPed along with creators Justin Halpern and Patrick Schumacker. While Lawrence wasn't directly involved with "Enlisted," he has a close relationship with "Enlisted" and "Cougar Town" creator Kevin Biegel, whose comedy was newly shelved. Since that time, "Enlisted" and "Surviving Jack" were both cancelled. "Cougar Town" was renewed for a final season on TBS. At the time, Lawrence also wasn't feeling especially confident about "Undateable." The multi-cam sitcom, which features Chris D'Elia as seemingly cocksure ladies man Danny, who mentors the less confident Justin (Brent Morin) and his group of allegedly "undateable" friends. "Undateable" had been...

2 Guns shows that the cop buddy movie has flatlined. It only took 24 hours for the film to vanish from my mind – and I took notes. Yes, it's the umpteenth buddy-cop retread, where two wily but likable antagonists are forced to team up to fulfil their competing agendas. Mark Wahlberg and Denzel Washington play undercover operatives posing as drug traffickers in order to snag Edward James Olmos's Latin drug lord. Their chemistry and fast-talking effervescence are instantly appealing: Washington the swaggeringly confident dandy, and Wahlberg all nerves, jitters and querulousness.
But as usual, the problem is the formula, not the duo. Diverting as the banter is, there's no dodging the fact that Walter Hill's 48 Hrs has officially now been remade for the bazillionth time in 31 years.

Guys and Dolls remake supposedly to star Channing Tatum, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (photo: Channing Tatum in Magic Mike) Guys and Dolls will be brought back to the big screen by way of 20th Century Fox, according to Deadline.com. Back in 1955, Joseph L. Mankiewicz directed for independent producer Samuel Goldwyn a highly successful movie version of the Broadway musical based on a Damon Runyon short story. Distributed by MGM, that particular Guys and Dolls starred Marlon Brando, Jean Simmons, Frank Sinatra, and Vivian Blaine. This time around, Fox supposedly wants Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, whose singing prowess was amply displayed in, respectively, G.I. Joe: Retaliation and The Dark Knight Rises. And Tatum and Gordon-Levitt can dance, too, as proven at the 2013 Oscar show (and, in Tatum’s case, Magic Mike). But hey, Goldwyn didn’t care that neither Marlon Brando nor Jean Simmons could sing (or dance), either. And Brando...

It seemed to be some sort of rule of thumb with the more iconic of horror baddies – the bigger you are then the harder and much more spectacularly you fall, usually amidst a climatic showcase of visual effects that have stretched the already limited budget of the film to near breaking point. I guess that's part of their enduring appeal. I mean, would Dracula really have been as unforgettable as he is if he was easily snuffed out by a simple baseball bat to the dome? Could you imagine watching a version of King Kong where the ape was simply put down like Old Yeller instead of being shot down from the top of the Empire State building? Some of these deaths have become as iconic as the villain themselves, complimenting the closing of the film with some final reel fireworks. Even a nameless henchman has a fighting chance for...

Welcome to the 2013 Academy Awards. I tell you this because what with all the singing and dancing and appearance of Kristin Chenoweth everywhere you might have confused it for the Tonys momentarily. But, no, it was indeed the Oscars and there were awards and musical numbers and bad jokes and better speeches and the world’s most endearing fall.
The show’s host was Family Guy creator and wanna be Broadway star Seth MacFarlane. He started the show by, wait for it, singing a song about seeing the boobs of Oscar-nominated actresses. Let me repeat, he sang a song called “We Saw Your Boobs.” I’m a gay lady who loves seeing boobs and that made me never want to see boobs again.
William Shatner shows up in the opening number as Captain Kirk because, I’m not really sure and probably now neither is he.

Back in January, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that the 85th Annual Academy Awards will feature a tribute to James Bond, in honor of the franchise's 50th anniversary. While no specific details were released, many have speculated that Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron planned on getting every actor who portrayed 007 together on the Oscar stage. The producers recently shot down this rumor, but revealed their tribute will be quite unique.
"It's something else, something very unique and very exciting but no, we're not getting the Bonds together."
The latest James Bond adventure, Skyfall, is up for five Oscars this year, including Best Original Song. We reported last month that Adele will perform her Oscar-nominated song at the awards ceremony.
The telecast will also feature a tribute to the critically-acclaimed musicals of the past 10 years, including Chicago and this year's Best Picture nominee Les Miserables.

Two-time Academy Award winner Barbra Streisand will croon a tune on the upcoming Oscars. This marks only the second time that the eight-time Grammy champ has performed at the Academy Awards. In making the announcement, Oscarcast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said, “In an evening that celebrates the artistry of movies and music, how could the telecast be complete without Barbra Streisand? We are honored that she has agreed to do a very special performance on this year’s Oscars, her first time singing on the show in 36 years.” -Insertgroups:8- Back in 1977, she sang the Oscar nominated "Evergreen" just before Neil Diamond, her Erasmus Hall high schoolmate and future duet partner ("You Don't Bring Me Flowers"), announced that she had become the first female composer to ever win Best Song. She shared the award with lyricist Paul Williams. (See video below, beginning at 1:30, after 1978 Grammy win.) In...

There are 75 original songs that qualify for the Oscar this year, but really everyone has been waiting to hear about one.
Adele’s title theme to Skyfall surged to #1 on iTunes just days after debuting in October, but some feared the number by her and Paul Epworth would be ruled ineligible for the Oscar because it incorporates elements of the classic 007 theme, which of course is not original.
But the music branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences decided it was not a significant enough problem to boot it from the potential nominees, and included it without...

It’s official! The Oscars are going to be amazing next February. Because Seth MacFarlane has been announced as our host for the evening.
Back in August, we heard rumblings of the possibility that it might be Jimmy Fallon, but now the Academy has put out the official press release stating that the job is going to MacFarlane.
The odds are pretty good that you’ll already know his name – MacFarlane is the creator of such brilliant successes as Family Guy, American Dad!, and The Cleveland Show, and made his feature directorial debut this summer with Ted, which broke box office records upon release, and has been by far one of the funniest films of the year.
So naturally, it’s good news for all who’ve felt that the Oscars could do with a little more comedy.

Whenever a movie studio announces plans for another remake, the reaction among fans and pundits is always the same: Hollywood doesn't have any new ideas.
But we like to look on the bright side of things, which is why we're so happy when we hear of a cool remake or reboot. Hey, who needs new ideas when there are already so many great old ideas waiting to be rediscovered?
With that in mind, we've compiled a list of 50 — that's right, 50! — upcoming Hollywood remakes that tickle our fancy. Because if these films were good the first time, you never know, you might just enjoy them even more the second time around.

Michael Westen (Jeffrey Donovan) has been the good soldier, helping those in need while trying to find out who burned him as a spy. After getting so close to the truth so many times, Michael began risking those he cared about to get any morsel or favor to help him get to the end. Once he got there, he wasn’t prepared for the most surreptitious villain he’s faced so far. Anson Fullerton (Jere Burns) has been up there all along, pulling the strings and orchestrating the madness in Michael’s life and then used Michael and his crew in Season 5 with Fiona’s (Gabrielle Anwar) life as leverage because he could frame her for the killing of two security guards at the British Consulate. The first two episodes have shown that Burn Notice is noticeably different this season–noticeably awesome that is!

Back in 2010, Fox 2000 won a bidding war with Universal to secure a script pitch by Erin Brockovich writer Susannah Grant, which promised to spin an original tale around the songs of California warblers The Beach Boys. Now Michael Sucsy, who has just enjoyed some box office success with The Vow, is in talks to direct the eventual film.Grant’s completed script, which is still being kept sub rosa, apparently surfs the tale of a summer in the 1960s, and has been doing the rounds of directors recently. The project comes clutching the rights to most of Brian Wilson and company’s back catalogue, which is largely thanks to producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who have sherpherded the likes of Chicago and Hairspray into cinemas. That's not forgetting actor/producer John Stamos, who is a friend of the band and has been known to jam with several of the members from time to time.

ABC's drama pilot "Nashville" will be cast by Jeanie Bacharach, Back Stage has learned. The pilot, from Lionsgate TV and ABC Studios, was written by Callie Khouri, who won a best original screenplay Oscar in 1991 for "Thelma & Louise." The project will shoot in Nashville, Tenn., though a date has not been set.Bacharach recently parted ways with her partner Gillian O'Neill, with whom she cast the SyFy series "Alphas" and the ABC drama "Brothers & Sisters," which ran from 2006 to 2011. I Melt With You, Mark Pellington's dark -- and I mean way dark -- meditation on midlife crises and male bonding, proved to be decidedly difficult stuff for many critics Sundance Film Festival debut last January. Back then I wrote in favor of giving its existential punk romanticism a chance to make its case (especially if you're a fan of folks like Jeremy Piven, who turns in a great face-melting performance). You'll finally get your chance to weigh in on the Imwy debate this fall as the film makes its way to VOD and limited theatrical release; get in the spirit with three new stills that highlight the trajectory of Thomas Jane, Rob Lowe, Christian McKay, and Piven's bromantic weekend of horrors.

There's been plenty of surprising killers from various horror movies over the years. I betcha know one saw that their was going to be two killers in Scream in the form of Matthew Lillard & Skeet Ulrich. Or how about that dead guy that had blown out his brains in Saw that turned out to be Jigsaw. You have films like Black Christmas and Final Exam where the killer turned out to be some random person with no connection to the film's protagonists what so ever. So which killer truly surprised me....
The Initiation That distinction belongs to Daphne Zungia from The Initiation. ....well her evil twin at least. I don't think anyone saw that one coming. I think pretty much everyone was expecting it to be her dad or to be one of her classmates, but her evil twin? That was a pretty inspired choice and Zungia played it surprisingly well.

Hell Night Day 2 - Horror Film Crush? If you grew up watching horror films like myself, then you were bound to have had a crush or two on some of the people who appeared in these films. Was it Jamie Lee Curtis in Halloween? Or how about Skeet Ulrich from Scream. Or maybe, just maybe, you had a thing for older women then yourself such as scream queen legend Linnea Quigley? Who wouldn't have a crush on her after seeing Night of the Demons? Or maybe for the women out there it was a young, fresh faced Johnny Depp in the original A Nightmare on Elm Street. All fine contenders for horror film crush if you ask me, but my first horror film crush was none other then.....
Linda Blair herself. I saw The Exorcist at a really young age. Then seeing her in Hell Night, she had definitely developed her ......ummmmmmm.

Normally, I like to lead my Sundance coverage with the positive. At this festival, it’s an article of faith that a terrific movie, no matter how small, takes precedence over a lousy movie, no matter how big. But I Melt With You, a men-behaving- badly “shocker,” may be a special case. Fifteen minutes into it, I wanted to walk out; 45 minutes in, I wanted to commit seppuku. And there was still more than an hour to go! Through the torture of it all, I began to grasp that this was no ordinary bad movie. It’s howlingly, outrageously bad.

I Am Number Four
Opens: February 18th 2011
Cast: Alex Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant, Dianna Agron, Kevin Durand, Teresa Palmer
Director: D.J. Caruso
Summary: Nine infant aliens flee their home planet to hide out on Earth. The species that destroyed their planet however has followed them and sets out to hunt them down. As the infants grow into teenagers with special powers, three of them are killed. A fourth has fallen in love and now has something to stand up and fight for.
Analysis: In premise and look, this sounds like a big budget and more action-oriented reboot of late sci-fi teen drama "Roswell". Though based on a young adult novel series, it was another title in this category that was the impetus for this adaptation - Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series. Any novels with a focus on teen romance and an other worldly touch are presently being bought up right and...
