Beautiful cinematography that captures the city of Prince Rupert and the surrounding natural areas well. The movie really used locations well, and largely in their authentic state. Jared's character was energetic and well acted. His mother Lily's character is more understated. Scenes with both of them, the difference was noticeable. The ending and other parts of the story leave elements open to interpretation. Who is the hanging man? When did he hang himself? Why can they see only certain people? Is the boy in the Doctor Bailey's office the killer with the eye patch? I like movies that let the audience use their imagination. Bruce's (Donal Logue) character maybe could have been developed more. A few points in the film reminded me a bit of The Shining. Enjoyable film overall.

At the beginning, I was excited to watch a movie filmed elsewhere, not in a city. Something that captured the beauty and serene of the Northern Canadian wilderness. As the story began, I was waiting for the rising action. Waiting for something that engaged my interest and excitement as horror, drama, and comedy films often do. During what I thought would be the build up for a rising action, I was left waiting throughout the film - then rolled the credits. On a positive note, the cinematography is stunning and captures the awe and beauty of Northern BC. Although the plot left me confused on what the island and people were about (no real introduction to characters), I loved the way the cinematographer captured the area.
