एपिसोड #1.1

The first episode of "Trese" is okay. As a Filipino, I felt like there's too much exposition about creatures that I already know about. Given that it's intended for worldwide viewing, I can see why they did this. As for the voice acting, I would've preferred an unknown voice actress to do Trese's voice but Liza Soberano does a pretty good job. The characters and story, sadly, were mostly uninteresting. Trese's backstory is generic, the story (so far) is a bit boring. It seems like they're in a hurry to tell story. The animation is so far the best part of the story, especially near the end. I'll still watch the remaining episodes and I hope that the story and characters become more interesting.

Aside from what the plot may be, Teen with abilities and "the chosen one"

I like the details, it really does give you the sense that this story is based elsewhere.

The knife she uses for example, looks like a Kris which was both a weapon and spiritual oobject. Kris were often considered to possess magical powers and that adds to the whole fantasy.

Its an introduction to a different lore and I am down for that.

The first few seconds, they showed us a beautiful image of Manila. Better than any image of Tokyo you see in any other anime. I told myself that it was gonna be cool. A few moments later, we saw some people walk, and the character animation (How the characters move) was painfully average. I was hoping that the plot would be good, and would make up for the character animation. No it did not. The plot moved to fast. What people usually do is they slow the plot down at crucial character moments, but no. There wasn't any, and we moved from place to place really quickly. And at the end of the episode, she was acting guilty because she could have came earlier and saved everyone. This one felt really out of place, cuz a while ago, someone was asking for her help. She didn't look at her with remorse, but she ignored her and fought some aswang. Also, for the duration of the entire episode, her face was blank, and her voice was also blank. She's basically a generic protagonist In short, I did not like it.
