Fans of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan spread a false rumor on Reddit, alleging an affair between Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur. The apparent intent behind this lie was to tarnish the reputations of both actors and potentially push them toward depression. As both actors received immense amount of trolling online including death threats. Including insults directed at Nimrat's deceased father who served in the Indian army.

During an interview, Abhishek Bachchan revealed that some inmates from the Agra Central Jail, where the film was shot, expressed their desire and intention to clear the 10th Standard Diploma Examination, inspired by the protagonist of the film. Abhishek Bachchan also organized a special screening of the film for the inmates of the jail.
