Although supposedly based upon a book by Edgar Rice Burroughs, there is no relationship whatsoever between the book and the plot of this movie. One wonders if the writer even read the Cliffs Notes.

Darren Dalton and C Thomas Howell starred in The Outsiders together in 1983. C Thomas Howell was a Greaser and Darren Dalton was a Socs, from a rival gang. Here they are friends.

This film's subject matter must be familiar to Timothy Bottoms, as he had starred in the TV series Land of the Lost (1991).
