Well, I will say that "Night at the Eagle Inn" from writers Erik Bloomquist and Carson Bloomquist does start out adequately and the writers do manage to establish a nice enough concept and build-up, but then the movie just collapses like a card house in a gust of wind.
When I sat down to watch "Night at the Eagle Inn", all I knew about the movie was that it was a horror mystery of sort. And with it being a new movie, a horror movie nonetheless, and it having an interesting enough cover/poster, then of course I opted to give this 2021 movie a chance.
And as I said, the movie started out well enough, but then it just slipped down a very slippery slope and never rebounded. And that made for a less than mediocre movie experience, and I have to admit that my interest in the storyline was receding gradually as the movie progressed. So writers Erik Bloomquist and Carson Bloomquist didn't really manage to compile something that proved all that entertaining or worthwhile for me.
Sure, if you are new to the horror genre, then there are things to enjoy in "Night at the Eagle Inn". But if you are a seasoned horror veteran, such as myself, then there is just nothing outstanding to be experienced here. And you might actually want to spend your time, money and effort elsewhere.
The acting performances in "Night at the Eagle Inn" were adequate. However, I wouldn't really say that the performances in the movie, even by the lead performers, was anything to write home about.
Ultimately, then "Night at the Eagle Inn" was semi-watchable, but it is a horror movie that came and went without as much as leaving a lasting impression. And I am sure that I will have forgotten about "Night at the Eagle Inn" come the beginning of next week.
My rating of "Night at the Eagle Inn" lands on a generous three out of ten stars.

Quick moving story with a couple of truly scary moments. Loved the combo of old fashioned horror hotel with a more modern feel. Gregg Schweers was great as the innkeeper.
Decent little hotel horror movie, with some snarky dialog. I don't think the horror elements are especially original, kind of a mashup up of things from The Shining, Ringu, and Argento films. But it's well enough put together, particularly considering the budget, and it's only 70 minutes. (Seen at 2021 Popcorn Frights virtual debut.)
I love horror but I despise cheap jump scares and was delightfully greeted by the atmospheric horror found throughout this film! The premise is nice and the acting by the two lead "twins" was honestly fantastic. For me personally I felt like you could actually feel the chemistry and shoutout to the casting for finding two individuals who look related but also in the short film's runtime gave a convincing performance of their investment towards one another.
My only qualm against the film was that certain aspects seemed dragged out and other aspects I wish had more development but such is a limitation of a film with a short runtime that was apparently shot during lockdown so props to them for making the most out of what they were handed to. It would be great if the movie was longer and more development and buildup was shown as some details seemed too implied or details were completely gone if you missed them.
Overall a nice sweet movie especially if you're a sucker for horror, haunted properties as an aesthetic. A fine movie for a night and short enough that it doesn't take up too much time.

The pacing wasn't great at the start, and the story is one a seasoned horror fan would feel like it's familiar, but it was a decent low budget indie horror film. The acting is pretty good actually, and there are some nice tense and creepy moments. Even though it was a low budget film I think they did well with the budget, because it doesn't look cheap or anything like that.
It's much better once it warms up, and the dark and creepy moments kick in.
The ending could have been better, even if it wasn't at all surprising. It's the kind of ending I don't like as much as the "good ending". It could have been a lot more interesting.
