फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
June Richmond sings this swinging blues number, with Roy Milton's band backing her up in this simply shown and heartfelt soundie.
A soundie was a video from the 1940s. Meant to be played on a video jukebox called a Mills Panaram, they were usually musical shorts, but there were other sorts, including comedy skits. Drop a dime into a Panaram, and you got three minutes from a loop of ten of similar length. From 1940, you could find these Panarams in bars, nightclubs, and similar locations. The program was usually changed weekly. From 1940 through 1946, Mills and a few competitors turned out more than two thousand of these short movies, featuring established talent like Louis Armstrong, performers who would later become stars, like Doris Day, and talented performers who are now, alas, forgotten. Like Miss Richmond.
