Starting To Pick Up

This was the best episode so far in this season. I've had some decent laughs in the first two episodes but this one was a new level of funny with humorous dialogue. The Mossbacher family continues to be a mess with no synergy and pure dysfunction but I love every scene with them. Tanya McQuoid having to deal with the loss of her mother was heartbreaking but somehow made humorous with the Pattons having to tag along. It's funny to watch how much Shane gets sabotaged every episode because he comes off as a douche and it feels poetic. I'm excited to continue the series as I feel the first two episodes were just a tease of what's to come. 3.5/5 stars.

The plot is, wow, so bad. It's just awkward. I guess the point is to have only dislikeable characters doing incredulous things.

Easily the best episode yet and probably will remain my favorite episode of the series

To anyone especially the ones that had negative thoughts on the White Lotus give this show a chance still I'm begging you! Ok so I already have been in a good mood today which probably helped so I laughed my ass off multiple times during Mysterious Monkeys, the laughter felt so wonderful! I was captivated throughout I can't believe how much I'm enjoying the series more than I thought was cause it started off pretty weak but damn it's improved a lot. Fred Hechinger (Quin) is the funniest character/actor among a few other people mostly him though. Jennifer Coolidge did a wonderful job as well.

Great show and great episode

I'm really loving this show and it's amazing how normal all the guests are with their problems. Sure some of them are nice some are acting like asses and some are acting quirky, but it's realistic feelings and actions. Ormond the manager on the other hand is spiralling out of control. And it's actually really funny... at least so far.

Hanging in There

There is not one character that I like. The ones that are normal are weak. The young bride is more realistic and down to earth, but she is being pushed around by her new husband. He is incredibly shallow and needs to take control of everything. He has no sense of humor or respect for anyone.

The rest? First of all the woman with her mother's ashes is almost impossible to watch and has so much screen time. Her scene on the boat is so dramatic (although her responses are believable).

The director has gone back to his alcoholism and is heading for a crash. He is pathetic.

The guy who found out his father had been gay and died of AIDS is also pathetic.

Then the two girls and the brother. He is at least honest. And their mother is a cold manipulative fish.

And she tried very, very hard to be a really good mother, even though she didn't have any maternal instincts or skills. She, uh, she was always in search of male affection. And, uh, she was... a nymphomaniac. I'd walk in her room and I'd find all sorts of strange men in her bed. She had borderline personality disorder. She took her money and she manipulated people with it. And she was cruel. And she was very, very cruel. She was so, so cruel and...
[Tanya sobs]
Tanya McQuoid: I- I just- oh, mother, mother, mother, mother. My mother... told me I would never be a ballerina, and that was when I was skinny! My poor mother, she... She just couldn't handle her jealousy. She had to take me down. And what's weird is I miss my mother... even though she was a big jerk!
