Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA where the film was partially shot, did not want to be credited as a location in the movie credits, even though it has been the site of 30 other movies, including Scream 2 (1997).

Rhoda Griffis plays the "Filthy Mom" in the tour group. It wasn't until after casting her that the producers realized she had played "Tour Group Mom" in the first movie. Her daughter makes mention of this when she chastises her mom for acting slutty by saying "You know Jimmy said you did the same thing on his tour."

DJ Qualls and Rhoda Griffis are the only actors from the original Road Trip (2000) to appear in the sequel.
