Although the Strings Attached pilot is set in the UK, the actors were based in Germany, England and Australia. Strings Attached is filmed by creatives all around the globe. The three Executive Producers Andy Wolf, Jessica Hutchinson and Marie Förster worked together remotely for 2 years developing the series and finally met in person at the 2022 Seoul Webfest where the show received two awards for Best Dramedy and Best Webseries International.

The spoof advert for Strings Attached, which ended up becoming a feature of the movie, was suggested by horror director Ivan Lo Conte after reading the first draft. Ivan had worked with Andy Wolf on his first horror short Tlalock Sacrificium. The crazy disclaimer in the end credits was suggested and written in part by Joe Foster.
