Chasing Churchill: In Search of My Grandfather

I am a huge admirer of Churchill, but I enjoyed this even more than I expected. Celia travels to places that her grandfather visited and you get a unique view of history. This is worth purchasing and rewatching.

Chasing Churchill is outstanding! I have only seen the first two episodes and I am hooked.

Winston Churchill's granddaughter takes us, in the modern day, through the path of her grandfather's astonishing life. She has found footage of Winston which is quite revealing; footage I have never seen before.

In episode One, we learn of young Winston's capture and escape in South Africa.

"I am Winston 'bloody' Churchill, and I am free!"

In episode Two, Winston enjoys the West Coast of the United States, after emerging from his personal "wilderness."

He meets one of his best friends of all, Charlie Chaplin, and is mesmerized by the profession of Hollywood film-making.

This program (I am writing this in August 2008) may well be available on your local PBS station (within the United States).

I absolutely loved this. It makes you understand more of Winston S. Churchill & everything that he was throughout his miraculous life. He had ups & downs, born to lead, & most of all was a humanitarian. I adored what was done by his granddaughter & loved the music which was absolutely soothing. Extremely good but not for casual people. I would recommend this to only those interested in Churchill. However if you like history or learning about extraordinary people's lives then you should see this too. It was extremely interesting to see her go to so many places that her grandfather had went to and painted. Makes me jealous I have zero artistic ability as those stand the test of time. I thought this was done superbly.
