Based on the short story "The Robot Who Looked Like Me" by Robert Sheckley.
The first time Charles is shown alone, he is wearing the same color as the two cleaning robots he shares the frame with, a possible hint at future events.
At the end when Charles and Elaine are dancing, they both briefly dance "The robot." Also called "mannequin" or "dancing machine," it was a street dance style-often confused with popping-resembling the stilted movements of a dancing robot or mannequin. This dance style gained fame in the 1970s after Michael Jackson used the dance when he performed "Dancing Machine" with his brothers.
