I was perplexed by the fact that Netflix even considered these "short films" for showing to the general public!! This is a bunch of home video footage, which lacks everything what cinema must have. No narrative, no message, no editing, no decent camera work, no creativity, and no acting! The domesticity of some sequences made me uncomfortable at times. People are making much better videos on youtube. This is an embarrassment for a short film genre:( And these videos say nothing about what this pandemic has been for all of us.

There had to have been a selection process to get to the films featured. After watching all 17, I can't help but think there are better films that were left on the shelf.

For what it's worth, the good ones: 3, 4, 6, 10, 11, 13. With #4 as my favorite.

Right. So, a bunch of privileged people whine about feeling slightly less privileged because they're, um, kinda bored? A man takes an ironic Tinder selfie and "drama" ensues. A mother laments the longterm trauma her son will face having to spend days at home, playing, sometimes learning, with an endless supply of ice cream.

Really powerful stuff. Such artistry. And not condescending in the least. These poetic ruminations of the tedium of life during the tragedy of a global pandemic really make you think, "fine, I guess I'll finish Merlin".

Yeah.

Reading the description, I expected to be boring but it was worse then I thought. It's not even that creative ...

I have only watched three so far (Kristen Stewart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Natalia Beristain), but they were excellent. I think it was an innovative idea in the time of social distancing and coronavirus to make short films. I enjoyed the artistry, the stories, and perspectives.
