Marvel Studios' decision to shift into television with the launch of the Disney Plus streaming service was inevitable. After all, it's one that the MCU had made before (remember Agent Carter and Agents of Shield?), as it was an opportunity to extend the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe beyond the films in projects that explore character journeys in much more meaningful ways.
As the years have rolled by since its Emmy-winning launch with WandaVision, the results have been somewhat mixed, with certain titles taking the franchise to new heights and others offering up new lows. The standard on the big screen began to decline too, with general public opinion being that Marvel had spread itself too thin and the overexposure was hurting the MCU.

Who doesn't love it when a character we thought was long gone makes a Marvel Cinematic Universe comeback? Fortunately, we've seen many of those moments in the last few years. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Peter Parkers suited up once again in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Wesley Snipes' Blade and Jennifer Garner's Elektra teamed up with an unlikely group of Mutants in Deadpool & Wolverine, and Matt Murdock swung onto the small screen yet again thanks to Daredevil: Born Again.
The Devil of Hell's Kitchen has been at the center of many discussions lately. For starters, fans feel hopeful that he could have a proper team-up with Tom Holland's Spider-Man, as hinted by an easter egg hidden in Born Again. Furthermore, we're all glad that he'll finally sport the "Dd" logo in his suit, as revealed by some exhilarating set photos. Last, but certainly not least, we're excited...

When the Marvel Cinematic Universe first started, it comprised multiple movies all telling a single interconnected narrative. Soon, this expansive world began to overflow the boundaries of movie theaters and breach into the small screen as well. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was the first TV series that would bring these superhero tales onto another medium, followed by Agent Carter and the Inhumans (though many people like to pretend that last one didn't happen). However, history was made the day Daredevil was released on Netflix.
The Devil of Hell's Kitchen would be the first big Marvel hero to star in his own series, "connected" to the wider MCU. Granted, these connections didn't go past a few nods to the events of The Avengers at first, but it was more than enough to make us hopeful about a bigger future for the character. Eventually, Matt Murdock became a staple of Marvel Television with 3 seasons of a Netflix adaptation,...

Jessica Jones is back, and this time she is officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios made the groundbreaking announcement during the Disney Upfronts this month, confirming that Krysten Ritter would reprise her iconic role from the Netflix series in the upcoming second season of Daredevil: Born Again. That return will see her reunite with Charlie Cox for the first time in almost a decade.
Ritter portrayed the superhuman private investigator in Netflix's Marvel shows, headlining Jessica Jones and co-leading The Defenders (alongside Cox's Daredevil). Her own series ran for three seasons before its untimely cancellation due to the demise of the Netflix / Marvel deal as the studio sought to make TV on the Disney Plus streaming service instead. By now, we're sure the majority of you have seen Daredevil: Born Again, but just in case, here's your spoiler warning.
Matt Murdock's long-time friend and partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) was assassinated by Bullseye in the pilot episode, prompting Murdock to hang up the horns... until he's compelled to suit-up again to battle crime and corruption in New York City later on in the season.
The decision to kill off such a beloved character did not sit well with some fans, but Cox believes it was necessary to "shake things up" a bit and give the story some genuine stakes.
"The awful thing that happens in Born Again, that was the gift for me as the actor, was the death of Foggy. I mean, tragic in terms of the show loses an element that, I think, was the heartbeat of Daredevil," said Cox during a new interview with SAG-AFTRA.

The first season of Daredevil: Born Again has already come and gone, and fans are now left waiting for news on the highly anticipated second season that’s currently in production. The MCU’s take on the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen was going to have to take some swings to differentiate itself from the Netflix version, and it did exactly that by killing off Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) in the opening episode. This was met with extremely mixed reception, and now the show’s biggest star has finally weighed in.
Matt Murdock actor Charlie Cox took a break from shooting Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 for an interview with SAG-AFTRA. Cox was asked how the Matt Murdock he plays in the MCU is different from Netflix, and he reiterated that, “It’s the same character, it’s the same human, but we are so radically changed by our circumstance.” Born Again...

After months of rumors and speculation, we recently got confirmation that Krysten Ritter will return as Jessica Jones for the second season of Daredevil: Born Again, but will the Man Without Fear (Charlie Cox) get some back up from the rest of his fellow Defenders?
Season 2 of the Disney+ revival series is still filming in New York, and both Mike Colter (Luke Cage) and Finn Jones (Danny Rand/Iron Fist) have confirmed that they are currently in the Big Apple via respective social media posts (Colter also left a comment on Jones' photo).
Their posts don't actually include any Born Again hints or references and this could just be a complete coincidence, but this has prompted speculation that Colter and Jones might be set to reunite with Cox and Ritter in the MCU.

Charlie Cox opens up about Foggy Nelson's death in Daredevil: Born Again and why it became a "gift" for him and the Marvel Cinematic Universe TV show. As exciting as it was to see Daredevil return to the MCU timeline, the beginning of Daredevil: Born Again season 1, episode 1, struck a chord with long-time fans who have followed Matt Murdock since Netflix's Daredevil series. With the return of Bullseye, the Daredevil villain ended up killing Foggy within the show's first couple of minutes.
During an interview with the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Cox was asked about how his approach to playing Daredevil was different in Born Again as compared to when he first started portraying the Marvel character in three seasons of the Netflix show. An untitled Punisher Special Presentation is in the works for Disney+. While not much has been officially revealed yet about the special, a new report has stated that it will reportedly break new ground for Jon Bernthal's version of the antihero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to scooper Daniel Richtman (via ComicBookMovie), the untitled Punisher Special Presentation is currently casting for a "female crime boss villain." If true, this would mark the first time the main antagonist for Bernthal's Punisher was a female. So far, both of his main enemies in the MCU have been male. In Daredevil and Daredevil: Born Again, The Punisher aids the titular Man Without Fear in the latter's fight against Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (and later his Anti-Vigilante Task Force), while in his self-titled Netflix series, he deals with friend-turned-foe Billy Russo/Jigsaw.

After leaving his ultra-violent fingerprints on Daredevil: Born Again, Frank Castle is set to return for his own Disney+ Punisher Special Presentation.
Star Jon Bernthal will co-write the script with his We Own This City director Reinaldo Marcus Green, who is also on board to helm the Special.
"It's like a shotgun blast of a story, but also has all the pathos and emotion that you want out of a Frank Castle story," Marvel's head of streaming Bard Winderbaum said after the project was made official. "It's so exciting."
Winderbaum went on to reveal that the idea for a Punisher standalone story manifested during production on Born Again, which saw Matt Murdock team-up with his old frenemy to take down members of Wilson Fisk's anti-vigilante task force.
"Bernthal is a generational actor," Winderbaum added. "He's incredible what he brings to all the roles he plays, but particularly Frank Castle.

Before the premiere of Avengers: Endgame, everyone hoped that the crossover would reunite every single hero in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (including those who were turned to dust). Fortunately, the Russo Brothers delivered on that promise and created one of the most ambitious superhero projects that still lives rent-free in our minds more than six years later. But now that it's nearly time for the next big chapter in the saga, we need to ask ourselves: How do you craft a sequel to such a beloved movie as Endgame? By going bigger, of course.

It’s unclear how many episodes Ritter will appear in, but Cox did announce her as a member of the cast.

Krysten Ritter is officially back as hard-fighting, hard-drinking Marvel hero Jessica Jones.
The announcement was made during Disney’s upfront presentation to advertisers in New York on Tuesday. Ritter took the stage with Charlie Cox, star of “Daredevil Born Again,” to reveal that she would be joining that show for its second season.
“It’s so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and ‘The Defenders’ and now joining the MCU,” Ritter said. “I’m so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. Ritter first played Jones in the self-titled Netflix series that debuted in 2015. “Jessica Jones” was one of five Marvel shows to air on Netflix, along with “Daredevil,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron First,” “The Punisher,” and the crossover series “The Defenders.” “Jessica Jones” ultimately aired for three seasons,...

The appeal of a comic book series might be its thrillingly violent action or impossible feats of derring-do. But “Daredevil: Born Again” captivates because of its immersive realism and its deeply human storyline about Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), a visually impaired lawyer with heightened abilities who fights for justice in more ways than one. As the “Born Again” in the title implies, this show is a new phase of Murdock’s story, one where he hopes that he’s left his iconic red suit behind him; likewise, his nemesis Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) has allegedly put his criminal behavior behind him as the elected mayor of New York.
Nothing is that simple, of course. Both Murdock’s and Fisk’s façades wear thin, and the two are fated to collide.
The challenge for the show’s creative team, however, was developing a visceral signature style that could stand on its own.

Shortly before Daredevil: Born Again kicked off its first season, it was announced that Season 2 of the series was going to begin production soon. Naturally, the second season is going to bring in some new stars to help bolster the ensemble, and one of the first newcomers announced to the cast was Matthew Lillard, the Scream veteran who’s also known for his role in Five Nights at Freddy’s.
Details about Lillard’s role are being kept under wraps, which comes as a surprise to no one given Marvel Studios’ secretive policies, but we did just learn a few details from the man himself. Lillard recently sat down for an interview with Comicbook.com to promote his new whiskey, Quest’s End Druid, and while he couldn’t give away the store, he did tease what kind of capacity fans can expect to see him in when Daredevil: Born Again Season...

Filmmaker Joe Carnahan's newest movie, Shadow Force, is getting released on May 9. Ahead of the movie's arrival, Carnahan opened up about Shadow Force in a new interview in which he also shared his thoughts on the superhero genre.
Grae Drake of Cbr spoke about films with Carnahan, whose previous work includes Narc, Smokin' Aces, and Copshop. They touched on Carnahan's mood reel he developed for a pitched Daredevil movie that he never got to make, which would have had a similar tone to his other films. He went on to clarify that while a couple of his films came somewhat close to the superhero genre, he now feels like these are the kinds of movies and TV shows he'd rather just enjoy as a fan without taking them on himself. Carnahan compared it to how he feels about Star Wars, though in that case, he's not expecting Lucasfilm to come knocking anyway.

Charlie Cox admitted he didn't like Daredevil: Born Again's fifth episode. He said the plot had problems and the story was off. It turned out he was way off mark, at odds with the audience reception.
Daredevil: Born Again seemed perfectly compatible with heist stories; it's easy to imagine Matt Murdock going undercover to thwart a bank robbery, but series star Charlie Cox didn't think so. Speaking to The Playlist, he admitted that he even tried to scrap Episode 5's story, thinking it was outdated. "I don't believe in a bank heist in 2025," he asserted. "That feels like a 1970s game. Too much technology these days for that to work… I wasn't into it. I didn't like it. It was my least favorite of the episodes, and I kind of pushed back against it as much as I felt was possible."
"With Interest" turned out to be a fan-favorite Born Again episode.

It's only been two months since the Devil of Hell's Kitchen first returned to our screens with Daredevil: Born Again, but anticipation is already running high for what's next for Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox). Production began on Season 2 just days before the first episode aired, hoping for a quicker turnaround to build on an explosive finale uniting Matt, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal), and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) against Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) and his officers of the law. With everything he went through in Season 1, though, the Matt viewers see next year won't be quite the same as the one we started with. In a larger interview for an in-depth profile with Collider's Tania Hussain, Cox teased that the new episodes will explore a Man Without Fear without trust in his own instincts.

If all goes according to plan, Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again won't conclude with its upcoming second season. Vincent D'Onofrio recently revealed that the creative team already has a plan in place for future seasons of the Disney+ continuation.
The Kingpin actor shared the Season 3 plans for Born Again during an interview with Awards Buzz (via The Direct). "If they let us do it, we have a plan. It is up to the fans to watch and to get excited," D'Onofrio stated, hinting that fans will need to tune in every week when Born Again Season 2 drops if they want Marvel and Disney+ to greenlight a third season. "And it is up to us to please them and get the story right. We are looking forward in a big way."

Celebrities — they’re just like us. They have to teach their parents how to use streamers, too! In Charlie Cox’s case, it was showing them how to navigate Disney+ so they could watch his new series “Daredevil: Born Again,” but it didn’t exactly go smoothly.
Taking a break from filming Season 2 of the Marvel TV series, Cox stopped by “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday and recalled his parents’ initial reaction to the show. The actor joked that it took roughly five hours to set them up with their Disney+ account so they could do so, but eventually, they got there. And, to the actor’s surprise, his parents’ reaction was pretty muted.
“They said, ‘Yeah no, yeah, good! Very good. Quite similar to the original show from–‘ and I went, ‘What? How?'” he shared. “And they said, ‘Well, you know, the bit with the backstory and your dad.

Charlie Cox, the performer known for playing the Marvel superhero Daredevil in the now-defunct Netflix series, has been reprising the role in the MCU since 2021, when he appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. He made his official return in the standalone Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, which works as a sequel to the 2015-2018 show created by Netflix. The show underwent major creative changes halfway through production after Cox wasn't convinced that the new approach under the supervision of the House of Mouse would work. However, the reboot was very well-received, and the actor has shown his satisfaction with the end result. Well, that is, except for one fan-favorite episode of Season 1: "Everyone's taste is different."
The actor recently spoke to The Playlist about reprising his role as Daredevil in the Disney+ show. Season 2 is currently in production under the supervision of showrunner Dario Scardapane. "What I'm really excited...

Charlie Cox reveals the Daredevil: Born Again episode that he disliked and tried to get changed. After the success of the first season, the crew behind the show is currently filming Daredevil: Born Again season 2, which is set to premiere in March 2026. Season 1 had a tumultuous production, as Marvel Studios overhauled the show and brought in The Punisher writer Dario Scardapane as showrunner to bring Born Again closer to the tone of Netflix's Daredevil. It worked, but one of Daredevil: Born Again season 1's episodes remained unchanged, and it was the one Cox disliked.

As Daredevil: Born Again continues to spark critical interest, Charlie Cox revealed that not every step along the way has been smooth. Cox may be behind the mask, but when it comes to creative choices, he isn’t afraid to speak up, especially when it comes to one episode.

There is no doubt about it: Daredevil: Born Again has quickly become one of the most successful shows of 2025. It's no surprise either, for the Marvel Studios series has been anticipated for years, as fans of the original Netflix series have waited for Disney Plus to revive it. This was the year that those wishes came true.
Audiences were thrilled when Matt Murdock, Karen Page, Foggy Nelson, Wilson Fisk, Vanessa Fisk, and The Punisher all returned to screens for the revival and it gripped us all throughout its nine episode first season. Nobody was more thrilled than star Charlie Cox, who had been waiting for another chance to put on the mask since the cancellation of the original series in 2018.
However, Cox wasn't particularly thrilled about one episode in the new series, and it might come as a surprise.

If it were up to Charlie Cox, Episode 5 of “Daredevil: Born Again” would’ve been cut.
Before the release of the Disney+ reboot, rumors spread of a first draft of the series that saw the deaths of Elden Henson’s Foggy Nelson and Deborah Ann Woll’s Karen Page happen off-screen. Obviously, the show was reworked, but in a sit-down with The Playlist, “Born Again” star Cox said the series’ fifth episode, titled “With Interest,” remained completely unchanged to his dismay.

Charlie Coxcares very dearly about Daredevil. And that was evident when Daredevil: Born Againwas released on Disney+ and we saw Cox return to the role of Matt Murdock. It means that he isn't afraid to defend the character and his opinion on things, which is something he recently shared. During an interview with The Playlist recently, Cox shared that there was one episode during Season 1 of Daredevil: Born Again that fans like that he wasn't the biggest supporter of.
When speaking with the outlet, Cox was asked about the new series and the infamous reworking of it. Before Born Again was released, fans heard whispers of an original draft of the series that reportedly included Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) essentially being erased from canon. The show was obviously reworked and changed, but Cox shared that one episode stayed through the strikes and into the reboot: "With Interest.

According to Charlie Cox, there was one Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 he disliked working on. Cox returned to the Marvel world earlier this year, returning to his role as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the R-rated Marvel Studios streaming series alongside fellow co-stars Jon Bernthal and Vincent D'Onofrio. However, his road to get there was not easy, as the series underwent significant creative changes on its way to release.
Daredevil star Charlie Cox revealed that he did not like Daredevil: Born Again Episode 5 when he was working on it. Tom Holland has been charming fans as Spider-Man in the MCU for almost a decade now. His kind, helpful, if a little goofy version of the web-slinger has won over even the most jaded fans over the years.
Although his Spider-Man: No Way Home gave a glimpse of the happy-go-lucky superhero finally turning a little darker after the tragedies that took place, Holland nonetheless managed to keep the essence of his unique version of Spider-Man alive, even during those sequences.
Interestingly, though, it turns out that his helpful streak reaches beyond the camera with long-lasting consequences. It was that very trait of Tom Holland that might have helped Jon Bernthal land the role of Punisher in the MCU.

Andor Season 2, Episode 6 is the most thrilling installment of the season so far. The chapter weaves together three suspenseful storylines: First, Luthen and Kleya extract a spy device hidden in Scoller’s collection. Meanwhile, Vel and Cinta—now reunited—are training the Ghorman rebels to launch attacks on Imperial transports. And finally, Bix continues to grapple with the lingering trauma inflicted by Dr. Gorst.

Andor Season 2, Episode 4 almost feels like the unofficial start of the season. The first three episodes focused on reassembling the key players in Luthen’s rebel faction. Now, three chapters in, Bix (Hit Man’s Adria Arjona) and Cassian (Rogue One’s Diego Luna) are back on Coruscant, trying to live their lives while awaiting their next instructions.
Another reason this episode feels fresher than the rest is that the Empire has finally landed boots on the ground in Ghorman. This makes it a Syril Karn (Kyle Soller)-centric episode, laying the groundwork for a fascinating backstory set in the early days of the Andor–Star Wars rebellion.

“I was raised to believe in grace. But you should know, I was also raised to believe in retribution.”
In the pantheon of comic-book superheroes, few characters have grappled as relentlessly with moral ambiguity as the vigilante. Whether it’s Superman shouldering the burden of godlike power, Spider-Man haunted by the guilt of responsibility, or Batman wrestling with the cost of justice, the dilemma persists: is taking the law into your own hands ever justifiable? It’s fitting, then, that “Daredevil: Born Again”—a story about a blind lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen who moonlights as a masked vigilante—places that question at its very core. In this searing continuation of Matt Murdock’s journey, we’re not merely watching a superhero saga. We’re plunged into a philosophical and emotional minefield about justice, morality, and the slow unraveling of civil society.

Warning! Spoilers for "Daredevil: Born Again" follow.
"Daredevil: Born Again" season 1 spared Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), unlike the unlucky Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson). Still, Foggy's death made her leave New York City and Matt Murdock's (Charlie Cox) life. "Born Again" featured Matt finding a new girlfriend, therapist Heather Glenn (Margarita Levieva).
Heather is no fan of vigilantes, distrusting people who need to wear masks. Her opinion is solidified when she's almost murdered by the costumed serial killer Muse. The bleak ending of "Daredevil: Born Again" season 1 includes NYC Mayor Wilson Fisk (Vincent D'Onofrio) offering Heather a job as his administration's Commissioner of Mental Health. Heather accepts, because she's blind to Fisk's true criminal nature. (It's still a bit of an open question if that blindness is ignorant or willful.)

In Daredevil: Born Again, Matt Murdock isn’t just facing the usual baddies; he’s up against a twisted buffet of villains who make Hell’s Kitchen feel like an all-you-can-scarier buffet. Gone are the days of street-level crooks, these villains are next-level! The latest season introduces a wild batch of antagonists, from the tortured artist-turned-murderer Muse, to the ever-terrifying Fisk, who just won’t stay out of the political spotlight.
Whether it’s a criminal mastermind like Fisk plotting to turn New York into his personal empire or Dex, the deadly sharpshooter with a grudge, the stakes have never been higher. Born Again elevates Matt’s rogues’ gallery to terrifying new heights, giving us a rollercoaster of confrontations, emotional battles, and jaw-dropping twists. And, of course, no one does it better than the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen when it comes to fighting back.

Though it does seem to be a small minority of fans, Marvel Television's Daredevil: Born Again has received backlash for propagating a "woke agenda." The main reasons for this seem to stem from the perception that the show is anti-conservative and anti-cop, while also sidelining established characters such as Foggy Nelson and Karen Page in favor of more diverse supporting players.
One fan is under the impression that season 2 of the Disney+ revival series is going to double-down on the wokeness, and tagged star Vincent D'Onofrio (Wilson Fisk) in an X post.
The actor was having none of it!
This is absolute nonsense," D'Onofrio replied. "We are not doubling down on any such thing. This statement is just not so. If there was any truth to it, i think I would know. We are telling Daredevil stories. We are not pushing any agenda other than making a Kick ass superhero drama.

The Punisher's next MCU appearance was set in motion by a historic Daredevil: Born Again credits scene.
When Jon Bernthal was confirmed to reprise his fan-favorite role as Frank Castle (aka The Punisher) in Daredevil: Born Again, audiences were ecstatic. Born Again subsequently delivered a number of grisly action sequences for Frank that were right in line with what the antihero is known for.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 Episodes Ranked Per IMDb Ratings(Photo Credit –Facebook)
Hell’s Kitchen just got hotter. Daredevil: Born Again has officially flipped the billy club on the MCU. After years of cameos, courtroom sass, and brief rooftop brooding, Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock finally gets his full-blown Marvel Studios redemption arc. And no, this isn’t just a moody reboot, it’s a spiritual successor with new scars, old grudges, and enough street-level drama to make even Wilson Fisk sweat through his signature white suit.
Season 1 didn’t waste time throwing Matt back into the fire, hello trauma, betrayal, and awkward office romances. With Heather Glenn stirring up chaos and Fisk trading crime lord hats for political power, the stakes have never felt grimmer (or more binge-worthy). While the Netflix run gave us blood, ninjas, and hallway fights for the ages, Born Again leans deeper into the emotional...

Daredevil just did a superhero somersault into Rotten Tomatoes glory, again. Daredevil: Born Again has officially joined the elite tomato club, proving that Matt Murdock isn’t just the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen, he’s also the king of consistency. After episode 9 dropped like a well-aimed billy club, the show not only delivered a knockout cliffhanger but also achieved the kind of critical acclaim Marvel’s street-level stories often dream about.
With brutal hallway brawls, legal drama, emotional gut punches, and enough Kingpin chaos to fuel a dozen storylines, this season had it all. And now, it shares a milestone previously held by every Daredevil season before it. This impressive Rotten Tomatoes score confirms the fandom’s undying love for Marvel’s most grounded (yet acrobatic) hero. While the MCU keeps expanding into multiverse madness and cosmic confusion, Daredevil: Born Again proves that sometimes,...
