Lego DC Shazam!: Magic and Monsters

Here's a question. Why did we not get an animated Shazam movie sooner? This is definitely a movie that honors the character.

LEGO DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters (2020) is the tenth and final entry in the Lego DC Comics movie series and it was good.

Positives for LEGO DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters (2020): This movie does a decent job at introducing us to the character of Shazam to the Justice League and ferron to know him before he joins the league. The subplot with the Justice League being turned into kids is fun. There is a good enough of action and humor with the characters and their situations. And finally, the final battle against Black Adam was fun.

Negatives for LEGO DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters (2020): Black Adam feels like an afterthought in the movie despite being on the DVD cover. The villain that turns the Justice League into kids is forgettable and he disappears after the Justice League turn into kids. And finally, there are moments where the movie is promoting the Lego sets with the Justice League in their life vehicles are hilariously dumb.

Overall, LEGO DC: Shazam! Magic and Monsters (2020) is a fine enough ending for the Lego DC Comics movie series and it will entertain kids.

The Lego DC Universe has a new superhero, Shazam. After he helps the Justice League at the Metropolis Farmers' Market, the group invites him, however, he refuses, as he his afraid to show his true identity due to being a kid and they will reject him for it. However, after the League falls for a trap laid by Mister Mind, leader of the Monster Society of Evil, and regressed to kids so he can easily mind control them, Batman manages to escape, and now, he and Shazam must trust each other to save the others, as they are brainwashed to bring Mister Mind food.

This is a good DTV film. The film is basically a lesson in trust, as Shazam has to learn to trust other with his secret, despite his fear of how the other heroes would react to him being a kid. Also, the story is good, the voice acting is great, and the action and humor are done greatly. I recommend this one for younger superhero fans or fans of Lego in general.

The Justice League is battling various super-villains when Shazam! Comes to help. The newcomer is eager to please and most are impressed. Batman remains suspicious, but the others invite him to the Hall of Justice. They offer him membership as long as he's not a kid.

Shazam! Is already a bit of a comedic superhero. That's why it doesn't change the character to do it in Lego. Batman remains the funniest character in Lego form. This basically becomes DC babies. I wish the whole baby league could fight the worm with baby versions of their powers. The phrase that keeps popping into my mind is "stealing candy from a baby". Mind control is not always the most compelling story. I really wish that the kids would have lesser powers.

This is the lego introduction to Shazam and his inclusion into the Justice League. It showcases his greatest enemies on Mr. Mind and Black Adam. I am a big Shazam fan and find everything about him tends to be the best of that particular area of DC. This does stand out from other lego DC projects with the shading. The golden parts really stick out. I do prefer more traditional animation, like 2D, when comes to superheroes but these lego ones are still alright.
