फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
I think Vijay had a list of TODO/wishes and one of them was to make a direct Telugu film, this film checks off that item from his wishlist, that's how I see this film.
It's a typical Telugu commercial masala film and not much different from other thousands of Telugu films that have ever been made.
One slight differentiator is that it is directly linked to the Hindi film: K3G, which came 22 years back, and if you have watched & liked that film, the probability of you liking this film goes up tremendously. I have an emotional connection with K3G and hence the first half of this film gelled very well, especially the mother-son sentiment worked really well for me, that's the best part of the film for me.
Similarly, there are many other Telugu film references like the previous Allu-Arjun films' board room meeting scene and it might connect with some other people and so on & so forth, that's the beauty/Pros of making a collage film.
Vijay's mannerisms with dialogues from other multiple films mocking others & a few times in Redin Kingsley's mannerisms lifted the scenes to a different level altogether. The thing is even with different hairstyles (IDK, if it's a wig) & his stomach puffed up, he's still watchable.
And all the other actors did play their roles very well, especially the 2 who played the parents produced top-notch performances that take us into an emotional roller-coaster ride, that's the beauty of having the senior most actors in the film.
Basically, it's a wholesome family entertainer with gameplay within the family business and hence it might give a bit of a feel like watching a serial, especially in the 2nd half where the film gets slow but still not bad enough at all as you literally get to have that satisfaction of having full meals after watching the entire film.
Overall, it is definitely a one-time watch if you want to have a wholesome feeling all from one single film, especially if you like watching the usual Telugu commercial films.

Strictly for Thalapathy fans. Movie has the same old basic plot that we have seen a lot. Same old typical family business story just to enhance the story director has added more characters to stretch the film and make it a proper entertainer but fails to deliver. 1st half feels very stretched with long boring screenplay and nothing new to add in the storyline whereas 2nd half is good as compare to 1st. Vijay's acting steals the show as compare to rest of the actors because while seeing the movie the director has pretty much involved in Vijay's character and it seems like it. Rest of the cast was average nothing that different as compare to the story. Rashmika is totally wasted. She is there only for songs and distraction. She looks good in songs though but not in the movie. As a movie lover this film is just an average for me though it has action, emotions and songs by the due to long stretched screenplay and old storyline this movie completely falls down. Only for Thalapathy fans. (4/10)
Wayyyyyy too long for this over the top family drama. Taking you back to the 1980s predictable from the start. Heroine had awhole of 20 mins that is including songs. Only saving grace is vijay comedy scenes and dance. One time watchable only. Huge star cast total let down as all characters are half baked. It's time for vijay to invest in decent scripts rather then dishing out garbage . Quality over quantity. Maybe to start with picking roles for his age. Kept checking time and waiting for it to finish. In the end yup you knew the ending in the first 5 mins into the movie. Sj Surya cameo was a worthy surprise.
Varisu is all about family values. No matter how unforgivable one person's mistakes be, if they are family then all is forgiven. Having said that, Varisu sticks to the age old family drama template mixed with masala elements to do justice to it's superstar lead. The rebellious younger son who is ousted from the family makes a comeback to mend the broken family. With enough father-son, mother-son, brothers sentiment, Vamsi Paidipally presents a done to death screenplay as a festival treat.
To speak the positives, the film is lavishly shot with vibrant colors. Vijay seems to having sheer fun playing this character and several ordinary scenes get elevated solely by his performance. With a runtime of 2hrs 50mins, the film is way too long but it is those funny moments with Vijay that makes it almost work. The predictable screenplay, weak villain and weakly written supporting cast doesn't offer anything new content wise. The action scenes too don't stand out. Despite all this, it is not a bad watch at all but Vijay saves it from being entirely bland.

A near commercial and family entertainer with all the mass , songs , humour , fight. BGM was appreciatable. Humour worked in some parts of the film but the youngsters may feel cringe. Thalapathy's dance and the songs was the biggest strength of this film. Stunt scenes was too draggy. Storyplot was old but the screenplay was decent. A proper and neat feast for the Thalapathy fans. Jani's choreography doesnt merge with Thalapthy in my POV. Movie might make someone feel so so draggy especially the climax.
Thalapathy fans , kids and family will enjoy this movie a lot. Youngsters and cinephiles might be get disappointed.

- ट्रिवियाThe film contains many references to past Vijay movies, including Poove Unakkaga (1996), Ghilli (2004), Thuppakki (2012), Bigil (2019), Master (2021), and Beast (2022).
- गूफ़In one scene there is written that Vijay Rajendran's company has got 250 Cr investment but there was a grammatical mistake, it was written "Vijay Rajendran's 'map my food' is a Unicorn now - with a investment of 250 Cr" Here the mistake is they have written "a investment" instead of "an investment"
