The central - absolutely true - argument is beautifully spoken and demonstrated. But if this is a Documentary, then what is the plot? The main character is filmed clumsily spying around corners, finding conveniently open windows (in the Arctic), entering an upstairs room by slipping in at ground level, and generally succeeding at Superman speed.

The impossible human movements (eg, a whole ship's crew magically transported to a hut in the wilderness) detract in the same way.

The story behind this is very good, with greed (Russia) and (Greenland's First Minister) outwitting the Swedish argument (for the planet) and the social problems of indigenous Greenlanders are made clear.

It would be better shortened, with some of the silly action left out.

I don't often write reviews but in this case I regard it as my civic duty to warn my fellow earthlings. From the summary I was hoping for something on a par with Smilla, Trapped or even Fortitude but this doesn't even deserve to polish the snow boots of those movie/series.

So, how did they create this turkey (tin Swedish: "kalkon")? It all starts with a ridiculous plot. Turn that into a laughable screenplay and add some of the most toe-curling dialogue this side of the arctic circle. Finally, add some of the hammiest actors you can find (in particular the Swedish agent who vacillates between arrogant unprofessional termagant and blabbering unprofessional cry-baby, all the while showing she's a founding member of Over-actors Anonymous). I honestly don't know what made Lena Endre sign up for this - she's a classic actress but is dragged down to the level of the rest of this stinker.

In the first few episodes the local actors at least act well, but later on even they are made to suffer inane plot twists and ludicrous dialogue. The only one who deserves kudos is the little girl.

The only positive thing about this series is the stunning scenery of Greenland (let's enjoy it while it lasts).

The true star is the Greenland setting. Breath-taking scenery. I can't really understand the negative reviews. There may be issues with use of language, but subtitles were good enough to follow what was happening. Plenty of plots twists and story lines and kept the pace over 10 episodes. The political state of Greenland was brought sharply into focus (like an episode of Borgen some years ago). Anyway, I enjoyed it and would watch a second series.

Overly convoluted plot involving events that come close to starting another world war being dealt with by a bunch of second rate political hacks and the police force of a remote Greenland village. Nice scenery though.
