फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
Melodramatic in the second half, only heightened by a score lacking all subtlety. The acting is sketchy at times, but watchable. It's a PG film, definitely aiming to be Family Friendly, so cutting it a bit of slack is in line. I didn't crack the murder case before the Sheriff did, and the outcome did make sense, so it gets an extra point from me. No need to slam it, people. I've seen much, MUCH worse.
A poorly made series that they accidentally made as a movie with Native culture, admirable stuff, tons of cliches, more unrealistic situations that you can count, dialogues that were written by schoolboys, an estranged wife Elli that gets hives by just touching Justin, not a single kiss throughout the whole ordeal.
After that, 2020, four years later they realized what a mistake they made, wanted to get it better, but actually made it far worse. Seriously, the series is a little worse by miles, though I enjoyed both mildly.

I don't know what some of the other reviewers are talking about. "Low budget"??? Have any of you actually seen a real "low budget" movie? This one does not have the look and feel of "low budget".
Story was good. Acting solid. Visuals and sound were good. The only thing that really bothered me was the incessant score. I hate movies that think there MUST be music playing every second. But that issue aside, it was engaging and enjoyable.
I will say it lacked any hint of "political correctness", which may account for some of the negative reviews.
This would have made a nice pilot for a series. But alas, sans the aforementioned political correctness, it would never even be considered.
Kudos to the cast and crew!

We have a solid premise here. New Sheriff. Small town. A murder.
But the execution is a bit meh, to be honest.
It just feels a little messy. Some of the editing is way off, a couple of the actors aren't up to the task, the direction could be better, and the script needs to be cleaned up.
Overall the feel is of a low budget TV production, similar to the murder mystery stuff they did in the 90s.
Not terrible, but not great either.
The best actor in it is Graham Greene, obviously. And he turns in a more committed performance as a sorta hillbilly grampa type than one would expect from this kind of thing. Sadly, he's not used enough, probably cause he got the biggest salary.
The scenery is gorgeous. And the music is pretty great too.
Overall, it's a reasonable enough diversion, just don't expect anything brilliant.

Actually didnt mind the story, liked it and could be a series BUT stop the horrible back ground music !!!!! Understand the whole hartfield macoy feud fine in the Appalachian hills but again got a headache from the over the top dramatic background music.
