Honestly, I can't understand all the hate people have for this movie, like, I know that Universal abused the Land Before Time brand for many years by making 14 movies, all of them being inferior to the first movie because they were too childish, musical and with slow paced stories. I watched most of the sequels as a child and now that I'm older I can't like them anymore, but I never saw this film as a child and honestly, I found it much more fun than the previous sequel films. I can understand that many prefer that style of dramatic story with crying and violent and threatening tyrannosauruses, but the childish aspect of the sequences made the drama and action very boring to watch. This film, however, tries to be different from the previous films. Instead of forcing another boring story with drama, it tries to go for a more humorous side with comedy. The Yellow Bellies are very funny characters. It helps that the director of this film had already worked on Disney animations, which made the film have a better humor than the previous films. And seriously guys, you're really harsh, attacking even the characters in the film. Some previous films have scripts that are much more idiotic than this film. The sixth film was one of the worst films I've ever seen. The biggest positive about The Wisdom of Friends is that it doesn't try to force itself to feel like a cheap Don Bluth rip-off like the previous 12 sequels did.

Having enjoyed most of the sequels, particularly Stone of Cold Fire, Time of the Great Giving and Great Valley Adventure, I was greatly disappointed in this sequel and consider it the worst of the franchise. The voice acting is a redeeming quality and the film moved quickly, but everything else didn't work for me. This sequel does have disappointingly lacklustre animation, complete with choppy editing, and the music is forgettable at best. Other cons are clichéd and lazy dialogue, an episodic plot and the voice acting is only variable, some are good but others are not great at all. As for the characters, Littlefoot is at his least likable and heroic, and Petrie is annoying. And Cera? I know people say she is bratty, but here she is really bratty. Overall, disappointing and almost unwatchable for me. 2/10 Bethany Cox

This movie will fully and seriously entertain anyone under 5 years old but if you are an adult, then it is so dire compared to the original that you will be in hysterics. It is a bright upbeat film but seems to be somewhat lacking in the plot a little. There isn't much 'atmosphere' in the movie. I think this is more humorous than anything. As long as you don't expect to be too engaged and you don't take it seriously and go along with its upbeat fun aspects, you will be able to have a chance of enjoying this movie, if however you expect it to be anything like the original or even previous sequels however then you will probably be bored and a bit shocked at what Land Before Time has become. I have given this movie a 5 out of 10 because despite it being one of the worst sequels in my opinion, it gets extra stars for being like an almost total funny mockery.
