I recently watched The Last Resort (2009) on Tubi. The storyline follows a girls' trip to Mexico that includes a bride-to-be and her bridesmaids. One night, one bridesmaid goes home with a boy she met, while the others decide to let her have her fun and go on without her. The bridal party ends up kidnapped, abused, and left for dead at a haunted resort. Meanwhile, their friend and her new boyfriend head out to find them-but is it too late?
This film is directed by Brandon Nutt (Hijacked), in his directorial debut, and stars America Olivo (Friday the 13th, 2009), Paulie Rojas (The Witches of Oz), Marissa Tait (The Bold and the Beautiful), and Arianne Zucker (Days of Our Lives).
This is one of those movies that, with a better cast and writing, could have been solid. Unfortunately, the acting is very inconsistent, especially from the villains, who didn't feel authentic at all. The dialogue is very hit or miss, leading to some eye-rolling moments that feel made-for-television. Even the sex scenes could have been better and felt off. It's a shame because, once you get to the conclusion and have completely given up on the picture, the ending is actually pretty good.
In conclusion, The Last Resort is a movie that, with better execution, could have been worthwhile, but unfortunately, it misses the mark. I would score this a 4/10 and recommend skipping it.

For what it is this movie is decently made. Except for the early parts in the bar it is a decently shot and the people involved seem to have a grasp on making a movie.
There are some good scenes as well, including some tense moments that are relatively well acted.
Unfortunately, it is hampered by generally bad writing. Again, some scenes are fairly well done and well acted, but are unfortunately overshadowed by too many scenes with distracting acting.
With stronger scripts and acting the director might come out with some good stuff in the future.

First off the film quality was just awful, the music was even worse. It was full of clichés. Five chicks and a haunted resorted full of bad mojo. Everything in this flick is predictable. Girls are in Mexico doing the whole bachlorete party, they all get drunk, one "hooks" up, and of course they get separated, mugged, robbed, shot and lost in the middle of no where. No imagination what so ever. And low and behold shocker.. they start fighting amongst themselves. There was some bad over acting. It was never explained what the bad mojo was beside some voices in the girls head or how it got there. The evil or bad mojo possesses the girls. There is nothing good about this film to say except is was short. I almost turned it off in the first 20 minutes, absolute yarn!!! I had more fun cleaning my toilet!
I'll TRY to give this movie an honest review. So honestly, I wanted to gouge my own eyes out no more than 5 minutes into the movie! Honestly, I felt as if the $1 I had just spent at the RedBox was $1 too much. Honestly, I'm upset that the time I'd just spend watching this movie was lost forever. Honestly, I'll try to read more reviews and check out more trailers before I ever check out another movie like this again! In all honesty if there had been a little more nudity like I had initially anticipated in a "B" movie such as this with (5) beautiful women in it at a bachelorette party in Mexico, then my ADD mind would have been able to better focus on the entirety of the film.
Two days in a row I've been burned by DVD artwork. There are no scenes of a sexy woman in a bikini anywhere in this movie. Why do these movies portray scenes on the DVD art that do not exist anywhere in the movie? It's bait and switch! The acting was mediocre, and the story line was just dumb. The "club" was not believable. It wasn't playing music you would expect to hear at a tourist club, and there were about 7 people there. This movie is so low budget they couldn't even afford to pay enough extras to fill the club. And why cast good looking women if you're not going to show any skin?? Even if they don't have nudity, at least give us them in bikinis at the beach. You may have well cast 5 dudes instead. Girls partying in Mexico and not even a bikini shot??? Who are the idiots who make these movies?? The story line is loosely played out, and it's up to the viewer to figure out what exactly is happening to the girls at the resort. The idea is good, but not done well in any shape or form. A terrible movie. DO NOT RENT!!!
