Kat wins a free trip to Puerto Rico for herself and a friend, but she doesn't have anyone to go with her; after being left in charge of the cafe, Randi and Phil have trouble with the new register.

Shelia doesn't want to be alone but her lack of boundaries infuriates Kat. Phil and Randi take a road to buy medical marijuana for Phil's mother.

A customer asks the café to bake his wedding cake, but it's a tricky situation for Phil. Meanwhile, Kat tries to figure out where her relationship with Max stands.

Kat joins the local gym to get in shape after being nominated for the 20 under 40. Randi and Daniel struggle to advance their relationship. Phil deals with the fact one of his favorite childhood books is racist.

When Carter helps Kat get elected to the local business council, a rift forms in their friendship when she doesn't vote in his favor to keep the bar open later. Meanwhile, Sheila asks Max to help her move some of her furniture to make room for her boyfriend, and Randi asks Phil for help with her photography project.

With Daniel out of town on the day of Randi's big move to his place, Kat offers to help her and discovers an unexpected secret about Daniel's past; Max offers to help tutor Carter's son in English.

Phil bakes a bun that resembles a celebrity. Kat's boyfriend asks her to go salsa dancing. Not wanting to look foolish in front of him, because she doesn't know how to salsa dance, she asks Max to teach her before the date.

When one of the oldest cats in the café dies unexpectedly, Kat decides to turn the one-year anniversary of the Cat Café into his funeral; Kat, Randi and Oscar all try to make amends for mistakes they made.
