Perfect casting, great dialogue, heartrending plot twists. This one is a must-see.

Apple did a great job with this one. The actors, all of them are great and have such funny on-screen connections.

Don't listen to the rare negativity about the inaccuracies of how adoptions methods are. They took a very emotional and touching subject and made a great entertaining series of the ups and downs, stresses and joys. It's entertainment and we were very entertained with laughs and my wife had some tears lol. You'll enjoy it.

Only possible down side is I noticed the dates are 2020-2020. Looks like this may be it. Which would be a shame. Something this good should get more seasons.

A lovely cast of interesting characters who immediately catch your interest. The office colleague being the highlighted. She was under used and could have definitely added more.

The storyline was a little predictable but the acting quality managed to keep the story going and keep your interest. I really believed in the two main characters and all the characters surrounding them so no matter what the story did I could follow it and buy into it.

The story has its ups and its downs and it's funny and it's serious. The cliche emotional rollercoaster applies to this program. The true test being near the end when you really start to feel for the characters and the emotion it generates.

This is a high-quality TV series that is filmed well and is very entertaining. I enjoyed it very much I look forward to a second series which will hopefully come soon. Recommended viewing 👍

We've been through the adoption process and this bought back so many memories. It takes you through every emotion we felt and I so well acted. If I could have given this higher than 10 I would have!

A really well produced programme, typically British, heart warming and plenty of dry humour. I hope a second series gets commissioned as there's plenty of mileage left in the story.

I'm loving this series as of now. Currently on episode 4. I really hope there'll be season 2. Apple TV is producing great shows. My top 3 are The morning show, Mythic Quest & Trying.

How delightful. Another Apple show to watch in bed on my iPad. Which doesn't have unlimited space left. Original material no less! The episodes are like eating peanuts. I like both leads for their gentle silliness which is also clever. Jason and Nikki are believable as a couple, and so comfortable with each other that you settle in with blankets like you do when you know you're safe with a show. I'm a little tired of caustic put downs and thankfully the writers have avoided that technique here. I'm rooting for this show!

This started as a lovely quirky comedy about a couple 'trying' to become parents. The first three series were generally filled with a good mix of belly laughs and an occasional tear. Light, fun, moving in equal parts. But the fourth series is almost unwatchable. Trying far too hard to be funny. Developing stories for characters that lack any warmth or connection to the viewer. For a series that was meant to be about the struggles of parenthood, there is not a great deal of struggling. It seems the best 6 years have been missed out of the parenting loop... and belly laughs have turned to embarrassing groans. What a shame... trying too hard!

Started this out of boredom and just chose it randomly, but then I was hooked.

I really loved the first three seasons of this show. I was binge watching it, couldn't get enough of it. The connection between Nikki and Jason was making me smile and giving me a warm feeling with every episode. The main characters were so lovable and I was just waiting for their happy ending.

Then season 4 happened.

From the 9* I initially wanted to give the show, I could barely let myself choose 7*... The joy I had from the previous episodes dissipated as I forced myself to finish the ones from this season, feeling like I forgot why I was watching this show at all.

They should've stopped with season 3. Feels like anything after that just spoiled all the hard work they've put into the story.

Really enjoyed this show. You invest in Jason and Nikki from the off. Funny and heartwarming. Don't usually binge watch, but was hooked from episode one. Great acting all round, well cast and wonderfully shot. Can't wait for series two!

...but turned into the most Americanised British tv series ever made. The wholesomeness level is cringeworthy. What started off as struggle and hopefulness turned into so much feel-good it doesn't feel good anymore. The characters are too one-dimensional - the balance between comedy and drama doesn't really balance out. It comes off a British body with an American soul crammed into it. Shows that are either/or often work much better because the direction is clear. There are several shows from Apple that have creative freedom and well-written scripts, but this one suffers from an identity crisis. Works for a season and then the magic is gone.

This show gets me EVERY single time. It makes me laugh and it's makes me cry. It's real life stuff too. The families and friends go through things people go through daily on a daily basis, all around the globe. In times like these, when so much media is saturated with sex and cussing this is a breath of fresh air. I keep wondering how they'll outdo themselves but yet again they've done it. Season 3 is off to an amazing start!

Couldn't score it less than 10 because it's just a perfect show. Every episode an absolute joy with stellar performances from Staunton, Spall and notably Esther Smith. I forget she's an actress and not a fly on the wall of a real person. Thank god there's a series 3 because I'd be gutted watching series 2 knowing it's the end. Roll on 3, and 4, and 5.

Great story, great acting, with a little bit of everything and very funny and witty. Looking forward to season two if there is one.

The comparisons to Catastrophe are apt, but I found this show more upbeat and positive. If you're looking for something to put a smile on your face, definitely try Trying!

This show was honestly incredible from the beginning and kept getting better each season. I never write reviews for shows or movies - but felt as if this show did not get the credit it deserved. The acting (from many characters) was incredible, the writing was phenomenal, and the overall plot was so good. The details within each episode were incredible and so blended, that they were easy to miss - but that made it all the better. It was a heartwarming show that made me laugh out loud in one moment (which is rare for a show) and in tears the next. Worth the watch since it's simple and quick episodes! Highly suggest and truly wish it got more attention and credit!

This is a very enjoyable comedy with terrific chemistry between the lead characters. They make us laugh a lot whilst at the same time drawing us into their hopes and dreams of having children.

But there is a terrible waste of acting talent with the roles of the parents. Great actors have been given parts that are drab, weak and cliched. It as if all the effort went into writing the other roles and the parents' lines were added on as a briefly sketched afterthought. This creates disappointing and anomalous lulls in an otherwise extremely good and sparky show.

Addendum; There is much better use of the acting talent available in the second series, which I found more enjoyable than the first. By letting more of the cast contribute to a greater degree It is much more rounded and enjoyable.

Hi, I am from Brazil. Loved it. My wife and I have 2 kids, and we had a lot of fun watching this. Really simple, really fun, really good. Honest and funny.

This simply makes me happy beyond the story line or acting, you get to see London before the lockdown when it was all normal to eat and drink outside, mix with people, share hugs and kisses, stroll along the riverside... Brings joy to stay-in nights

This series is so funny I love the typical British humour and comedy and it's show just how chaotic life can be when trying at adopt.

It's a very light comedy about an important issue. The characters are good, the storyline is pretty predictable but still fun. I really enjoyed it.

I was really excited for this sounded and looked my kinda show. I like reality based shows. But for me this just wasn't any genre. It wasn't funny, most characters in it aren't particularly likeable and also I kinda felt that they didn't even seem like people I'd root for to have kids. Jason seemed very real, I thought his portrayal was really natural but nicki I thought was awful, I think she's a brummy but in cuckoo she was bearable. A downgrade in the show. Her accent was just irritating. Her acting was just a bit meh. She's not really easy to like, seemed one of those control freaks who were fake nice and just not great. The rest of the characters were just OK, weren't really that engaging and seemed a waste of talented actors.

Some bits were amusing but none laugh out loud, I genuinely don't think this has the quality to succeed. The dynamic is off and such very little chemistry, I found it just watchable but not entertaining.

I'd give it a miss. I don't know if it was the actors or script but it just didn't work

It's a good show. Sometimes the comedy seems a bit forced/forged but it's a good heart warming show I binged in one night!
