फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
I am a fan of Netflix documentaries, particularly the criminal/true crime ones. However, more recently, these productions are becoming less interesting, not because of the content but due to the overextension, boring details and repetition of material.
In this case, Who Killed Malcom X starts with a good episode, intended to familiarize anyone who doesn't know the case and everything that led to it (I am one of them). The problem is on episodes 2, 3 and 4 where there is too much repetition of scenes, information and details already mentioned in the first episode. In my opinion, these episodes are completely unnecessary and they can be easily skipped.
This is something that upsets me because I imagine lots of people giving up on this documentary (and even in future ones) by episode 3. If Netflix wants to convince more people to watch this kind of content, they need to make it more attractive.
Anyway, episodes 5 and 6 are very interesting and in my opinion, make this series a 7/10.

This was a well put together documentary for those versed on the subject and those looking to learn more about this important point in history. It's informative, well paced and sticks to the "need to know" rather than being chocked full of filler. What I didn't enjoy (by no fault at all of the makers of this documentary) is all the dodging, shoulder shrugging and flat out excuse making for Malcolm's true assailant. Two innocent men did a combined 40+ years of prison time for a crime they didn't commit, and everybody and I mean EVERYBODY from a senator to the random person on the street basically said "so what" when confronted about who the actual killer was. It was truly infuriating to see so many people be so indifferent about someone committing such a heinous crime and never having to pay the price for it.
As infuriating as all that was, I did still really enjoy this documentary. I'm a student of history so this was right up my alley. If you have a few hours to spare, give it a look. It's definitely time well spent.

This was an excellent documentary. Kudos to Netflix for putting this out there. IT IS A MUST SEE
As mentioned in other reviews, not nearly enough content for 6 episodes - a baffling recurrent trait of Netflix doc series. Also (although it's arguably not relevant), doesn't even mention the very odd beginnings of the NOI, which are probably worthy of an investigative doc on themselves - Who Was Wallace Muhammad!?
One thing is clear from this documentary and its that people know who did it and have chosen to turn a blind eye to it. Be it loyalty or not wanting to become targets themselves but they know and by not assisting they are obstructing justice. People of faith complicit in allowing murderers to walk free and letting two innocent men suffer in jail. Alot of information and footage I'd never seen before that offers a unique look into the rise and fall of Malcolm X. The corruption and profiteering of the upper levels of the nation of islam movement and the hypocrisy of its leader. It's been announced the investigation has been reopened as a result of this documentary and i hope some more clarity and justice can come from it. Informative, well researched and eye-opening. A very immersive watch whatever your knowledge of Malcolm and the circumstances surrounding his death.
