The teaser site WhatisTheMatrix.com came back online in October with the returning Choose Your Reality section, where visitors chose either the Red or Blue pills and they would be treated to a unique teaser for The Matrix Resurrection. It also featured exactly 2,880 unique variations of dialogue for both versions, because the teaser would detect your time and then read it out mid-teaser.

While in the Matrix, Lexy has a tattoo of an electrical outlet on the back of her neck, in the exact spot where her Matrix plug would be in the real world.

The first teaser, revealed via WhatIsTheMatrix.com, included a shot of Neo's pill bottle, prescribed to his Matrix alter ego Thomas Anderson. The medication is called "Ontolofloxin," a clever tweak on the series' exploration of ontology, i.e. the nature of being.

Filming in San Francisco caused irritation among residents and city workers after damage was inflicted to buildings and street lights. As in the case of other productions like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021) and वेनम: लेट देयर बी कार्नेज (2021) (both 2021), the producers had to pay $420,000 to the San Francisco Police Department so they could film in the city.

Rejected or unused designs from The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions were revived for this movie, as new types of hovercraft, Machines, or hybrids. The designers on The Matrix were also asked if they had any old computer data for key designs like the Harvester, for use as references.
