Ever since the rise of AI, it's become a rich vein for horror movie directors to tap into. Now, the newly established Twenty-Nine Palms Entertainment, created by Edoardo Bussi, is launching an AI-themed horror film. This is to be titled Othermor.

The film will star Troy Baker and Yasmeen Fletcher. Baker is widely known for his work in the video game world, having played Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite, Indiana Jones in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and perhaps most famously of all, Joel Miller in the beloved zombie game The Last of Us. While the role of Joel in the TV adaption went to Pedro Pascal, Baker did pop up in the show, playing henchman James in the episode "When We Are In Need."

Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch has found its Nani, Lilo’s older sister and legal guardian, in Sydney Elizabeth Agudong, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Disney declined to comment.

Newcomer Maia Kealoha is playing Lilo, while Zach Galifianakis joined the cast in February. Stitch, naturally, will be a CG confection. Dean Fleischer Camp, the filmmaker behind indie darling and best animated feature Oscar nominee Marcel the Shell With Shoes On, is directing the remake that is intended to be a major release on Disney+.

The Hawaii-centric story tells of the bond formed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who was genetically engineered to be a force of destruction. With nosy social workers and pursuing aliens banging on the door, the two bond over a shared sense of family and win the day.

Exclusive: Lauren Kisilevsky is reuniting with Reese Witherspoon after being hired to oversee live-action family programming at Hello Sunshine.

Kisilevsky, who becomes EVP, Live Action Family, Kids and Young Adult at the Candle Media-backed company, joins from Disney, where she has been SVP, Original Movies, Disney Branded Television.

She previously worked with the Your Place Or Mine star at Type A Films, which was one of Witherspoon’s production precursors to Hello Sunshine.

Reporting to Hello Sunshine CEO Sarah Harden, Kisilevsky will be in charge of building out the division and developing and producing family, kids and young adult live-action movies and series.

The push into live-action family and kids programming comes after the company decided to shut down its animated division last month.

Exclusive: Diandra Lyle, who heavily recurred on Season 1 of Secrets of Sulphur Springs, has been promoted to series regular for the second season of Disney Channel’s time-travel mystery-adventure series. Production on season two will begin next month in Louisiana.

Lyle, who appeared last year in ten of the drama’s first 11 episodes, returns as Jess Dunn, the dedicated, hardworking widow and loving, single mother of Harper (Kyliegh Curran) and Topher (Bryant Tardy). Her younger self is played by Izabela Rose (Upside-Down Magic).

Secrets of Sulphur Springs centers around 12-year-old Griffin Campbell (Preston Oliver), whose family has just uprooted their lives to take ownership of an abandoned hotel in hopes of restoring it back to a lively vacation destination. Lauren Kisilevsky, most recently vice president of original movies at Disney Channel, has been promoted to senior vice president of original movies at Disney Branded Television, where she will develop and oversee production of Disney Channel and Disney Plus’ growing slate of films.

The exec has already overseen a wide range of Disney Channel and Disney Plus originals, including “Upside-Down Magic,” “Descendants 3,” “Zombies 2” and the upcoming “Spin,” as well as “Secret Society of Second Born Royals” and the upcoming “Sneakerella.” The “Descendants” and “Zombies” franchises have proven to be big audience draws for Disney.

Lauren Kisilevsky has been upped at Disney Branded Television.

Kisilevsky, who was previously VP, Original Movies, Disney Channels, becomes SVP, Original Movies, Disney Branded Television.

She will develop and oversee production of a slate of movies for Disney Channel and Disney+. It comes after the company launched the Disney Branded Television unit led by Gary Marsh.

Kisilevsky will report to Ayo Davis, EVP, Creative Development and Strategy, Disney Branded Television.

She previously oversaw Disney Channel Original Movies such as Upside-Down Magic, Descendants 3, Zombies 2 and the upcoming Spin, as well as Disney+’s Secret Society of Second Born Royals and the upcoming Sneakerella.

Prior to joining Disney Channel, Kisilevsky developed feature films including Paper Heart, Nothing Like the Holidays and Pandorum and worked with Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher on the executive side.

It’s time to play the music and it’s time to light the lights. Why? Well, it’s almost time to meet The Muppet Show on Disney+ tonight.

Disney+’s list of new releases for February 2021 features a handful of intriguing original movies and TV shows. But it’s a blast from the past that’s making the most waves. All five seasons of The Muppet Show will arrive on Disney+’s stream on Friday, Feb. 19. And just like that, 2021 is a brighter place.

February 2021 also sees the back half of WandaVision carry on. Disney+ only mentions each release as being a “new episode” but if our calculations are right, February should feature episodes 5 through 8 of the series. That just leaves the finale for the first Friday in March.

Exclusive: Siena Agudong, the 16-year-old star of Disney Channel’s Upside-Down Magic and Netflix’s No Good Nick, has signed with The Gersh Agency for representation.

Agudong can currently be seen in the lead role of Reina in Disney Channel movie Upside-Down Magic, based on the bestselling fantasy fiction children’s books of the same name. Last year, she landed the title role in Netflix comedy series No Good Nick, opposite Melissa Joan Hart and Sean Astin.

Agudong’s breakout role came in early 2014 in ABC’s Walker, Texas Ranger drama series. She has since starred on Nickelodeon’s Nicky, Ricky, Dicky, and Dawn, appeared on Raven’s Home, played “Tiffany” in a recurring role on TVLand’s Teachers, and recently guest starred on Hawaii 5-0.

In the newest Dcom Upside-Down Magic - based on the best-selling book series of the same name - Siena Agudong's character Reina joins her best friend Nory (Izabela Rose) as they head off to their school of Magical Studies. Just like being sorted at Hogwarts, the girls get placed in their new classes; Reina's power of fire secures her the top spot in the Flares class, while Nory's wonky magical abilities land her in the not-so-desired class of Upside-Down Magic.
