फ़ीचर्ड समीक्षाएं
Lisa Taddeo actually went and met these women and wrote about their lives - these negative reviews are so harsh and criticizing the storylines - that's how they actually happened - this show is based on true stories that Lisa wrote about in a book and now it's been made into a show - I really don't understand the harsh criticism I've read. I am loving the show so far but that might also be because I read the book. I am not a big reader (I'd like to be) but I really enjoyed her book so to see these characters brought to life - I am really appreciating reimagining this story with these actors and getting to watch these stories about real women, played out by women, directed and written by women - so any criticism of how "anti-feminist" it is is just weird. I like the show.
Three Women attempts to tackle feminist themes, but often falls into the trap of caricatured characters and exaggerated storytelling. The portrayal of both female and male characters feels fake and one-dimensional, detracting from the potential depth of the narrative.
The show seems to rely heavily on stereotypes rather than exploring the complexities of its characters' lives. For instance, the women are often portrayed as either hyper-emotional or overly empowered, lacking the nuanced development that would make their journeys relatable. This reductionist approach not only undermines the feminist message but also risks alienating viewers who seek authenticity in character arcs.
Moreover, the dialogue often feels forced, as if the writers are trying too hard to deliver 'witty' or 'provocative' lines that ultimately fall flat. Instead of sparking meaningful conversations, it often leads to eye-rolls and groans.
The pacing also suffers; moments that could have been poignant are rushed, while others drag on unnecessarily. This inconsistency disrupts the flow of the story and makes it difficult to invest in the characters' struggles.
Overall, while "Three Women" aims to be a bold exploration of contemporary femininity, it can come off as cringeworthy rather than thought-provoking. The show misses an opportunity to engage in a deeper dialogue about women's experiences, leaving viewers with a sense of disappointment rather than empowerment.

I admit I was skeptical during the first episode, which felt heavy handed with its use of narration, a bit gratuitous with some of the nudity, and a little too familiar with its stories of female sexuality. But I'm really glad I stuck with the show beyond that episode, because it turned out to be a deep and thoughtful character study of flawed, but very relatable and/or intriguing characters. As the series went on I continually went back and forth over which storyline I found most compelling, but now having seen all 10 episodes, I can honestly say I didn't have a favorite because they were all so interesting. The performances by all the leads were also exceptional and even the lesser known supporting cast really shined throughout. I highly recommend this series to anyone who's interested in great storytelling, complex characters, and terrific acting.

This show has been airing but I ignored as I thought it was the movie that was on a month ago called a similar name. So I'm binge watching and I'm on the 5th episode. I've decided even if the rest are horrible? I'd still give it a 10. It's just that well done! Even better is that it's a true story. One that's truly imperfectly but perfectly honest. If you are female, I'm sure there's something here for you. If you are an open minded male? You too. If you are a guy who likes a women that's great at faking the big o you'll probably hate this. Hence the lowball ratings from a few lol. Bonus points the the musical director in this!! Hit damn! I even forgot about a few of these gems! Definitely getting the soundtrack if available. Lighting guy... can't forget you! Your awesome! A movie I can see . Not all darkened scenes! Thank you! Sound! Thank you for keeping it on the level! Great job! Wardrobe. Chefs kiss to you. Needless to say, the writer and director in this stand out. It's perfectly executed the way life really does often present! I wish you all every award there is! I'd mention the actors but I'm not finished watching and don't want to forget to acknowledge anyone. Watch it! It's right up there with queens gambit.
It's so boring and unoriginal.
The narration adds nothing. In fact, it distances the viewer from the story, constantly reminding you that it's just a collection of representations rather than someone's story you can truly immerse yourself in.
Also, I've noticed, as a woman, that when a film or series is about women, for women (in this case, based on a book by a female author who also wrote the screenplay), women automatically seem to like it. As if supporting women is confused with blind, uncritical praise.
But the series is weak, derivative, unoriginal, and very boring.
And why those erotic scenes have to be so long, it's sooo boring and brings nothing.

In February 2023, Starz bought the rights to the series from Showtime and ended up airing the show on September 2024.
