Rundfunk: Jachterwachter

A movie is not the same as the theatre. This movie misses any kind of humor, a story line or something that looks like a storyline and actors that can act. I cannot understand that really nobody involved in making this movie thought "maybe we should just not do this". Better invest the funds of Dutch cinema in something else....... for Rundfunk; stick to theatre but stay away from cinema.

I was, and still am, a great fan of the Rundfunk series. So, I hoped the film would be like that. By my friends I was alarmed, that I could better skip the entire movie because they said that it wasn't funny and a real shame in comparison with the series.

However, I still watched it and it was indeed awful, unfortunately. The jokes were not funny and the storyline was horrific. I am really dissapointed.

For a Dutch comedy it is really awful. Nothing in comparison with New Kids or Vet Hard for example.

I can not recommend to watch this movie at all.

I myself love this movie and know quite some people who do to. I would rate this a ten out of ten but I don't because there are a lot of people that don't like this movie. If you like the comedy, you will love this movie. If you don't like the comedy you probably won't. But next to it being funny for many people ( not everyone) it has beautiful colors, some good effects, great sets and an amazing soundtrack. The acting sure isn't good but it doesn't distract ( for me at least ). It's surreal, it's weird, it's over the top. So if you like that you will probably like this movie. I would say watch it but there is a chance you don't like it.

Never watched the Rundfunk series, only a few clips in which the annoying naievety of the main character was already clear. In this movie it is cringing, until it becomes funny. And then it's hilarious. Especially since visual jokes, slapstick and absurdism keep adding a notch. This movie falls in the category Hans Teeuwen, Flodder, Joop Klepzeiker and Sjef van Oekel.

Story development is quite fresh. There is some character development. Violence, oh yes. Supporting characters like Jonas could have had some more background for variation in the jokes. Editing could have been slightly better, my take would be to make it more over the top.

This is not really one for the cinema. Yet, I don't understand the 1 ratings at all. If you sat through the whole movie, then it couldn't have been that bad.
