Sadhana is a great actress. She was nearly 40 by this movie . Age shows on her slender tender frame but she manages to enact both roles very well. Ashok Kumar lives a rich life style with his only daughter who is in love with newbie Anil Dhawan. His other daughter ( again Sadhana ) by a concubine ( who he presumes is dead ) comes to haunt him . A lot of twists and turns and confusions take place. Both the girls live under the same roof . The righful daughter accepts her father's flaws and tries to redeem her step sister who is actually a nautch girl . Anil dislikes this step sister from day one who is crass and tries to interfere in their romance . She also wants a rightful share in her property. A letter arrives stating that the babies have been switched at birth by the spiteful courtesan and she now wishes to repent before dying . Many turmoils later , all becomes well. The prositute Sadhana ( who is the rightful legitimate daughter ) dies wearing bridal finery . Anil is perfect tall svelte and good looking for the role of a confused and also romantic lover . He often warns her about her step sister . Sadhana had adapted herself to the new wave . She looks equally svelte in mini skirts . Sadhana is on top in both the forms as a polished rich girl wearing her famous kurti pyjamas or sarees and also as a crass uncouth street walker dancing and prancing ,coming to claim her share in her father's property and affections . Roopesh kumar is likeable in his short role as her pimp . Ashok kumar is engaging as a repentent father , embarassed to accept his other daughter in public . We feel sorry for the bad Sadhana who dies in the end. She craves for her father's evasive attentions and wants to be a legitimate bride . Over all a fine movie . The main cast had stopped working in main roles by the time this movie released . Some dialogues , scenes , make up ... look stale because of this ... Strictly for Sadhana's fans .
