Father Figurine

The premise is simple. That's a good start. The simplicity is what makes this such an entertaining short. There is humor, there is terror, there is weirdness, there is so many things that come out in this short that other movies cannot convey in 2 hours. I was more entertained in 17 minutes and 16 seconds watching this than I was in the 3 plus hours "The Irishman" made me sit through. In 17 minutes I uttered "WTF" several times, I chuckled, I stared in amazement, I guffawed, and I smiled in content. Watch it. What do you have to lose?

One of precise explore of truth. An wealthy old man. His bizarre last weill. The consequences for the family. And reactions of each member. Simple story, large slices of grotesque. And an useful short film. Admirable performances and great atmosphere.

How you view this short film is probably going to depend on your sense of humor, but for me this is probably my favorite short film of all time, and I've watched at least a thousand over the years.

I think part of what makes this so funny is the blank facial expressions from all the living characters, their reaction to having an embalmed corpse and their interactions with each other.

I don't think this could be expanded into a full length film, but for 17 minutes I could not contain my laughter. The cast was brilliant and the photography was spot on. If you don't have a somewhat dark sense of humor this short film probably isn't for you, but as someone who loves irony and laughs at people put into uncomfortable situations, this was pure gold.
