The war of the three Turkish empires. Turks are managing all three empires for centuries. Also all three empires are Muslim. One of them the ottoman empire from southeast Europe. One is the Mamluk Sultanate from North Africa. The other one is Safavid Empire from west Asia. They start fighting for deserts of the middle east at the 15. century. The director tries to explain only the good sides of the Mamluks but cant succeed, he tries to explain only the bad sides of the Ottomans with lies, and he never tells the Safavids because who ordered this project has shame of the be a member of Muawiya's Islam. Serial has a strong message to Arab people to stop loving and wanting Turkish management instead of Arabic billionaires, emirs and sheikhs.

If you rely on this for historical info, you need to read a book.

Historically wrong! Acceptable as a fantasy series. No more! This TV show was shot on behalf of the government of the Emirates and Egypt. First and foremost, it is about portraying Ottoman history very poorly, as part of propaganda against Turkey, with which the UAE (Emirates) and Egypt's Al Sisi currently have a political twist.

I used to be a fan of Hollywood and the western cinema in general! I wasn't a fan of the Arabic drama but this show is really different and a big step of the evolution of this industry in the area!

The photography, directing and the story are so perfect! The story is really gd and match the historical facts

I really loved the show and looking foreword to see such gd work in the future.

Complete waste of time. The direction and acting was mediocre. The plot , story and message, was a total waste. Worst thing that I've seen in a very long time.

Amazing music , cast , graphics and many more ! it reveals the dark side of the old empires and how did they rule the middle east i suggest other 1 star reviewers to watch the series first

Clearly the reviewers here who just gave 1-star didn't even bother to watch the show (only first episode aired.) They are just drived by emotion.. what a shame.. if only middle-easterns would enjoy something and not stuff politics in every damn thing out there.

When you watch the trailer of this epic series, you are captivated by the amount of effort that went in the making of costumes, the vast resources spent on actors and crowds of professional extras, and the orchestrated camera work enriched by both special and practical effects. However, once you realize the real reason for the making of such a show and its grave historical inaccuracies, you are left in a disarray. The watching a fake inaccurate depiction of a so called period series becomes agonizing. I hate to admit it, but the makers of this beautiful piece have gone astray from the path of the people whose this show is directed for.

A qualitative leap in the history of Arab series! I did not expect one day that the Arab works would reach this level. I am really impressed, and I would like there to be more support for these TV shows, keep going!

Great overall but some scenes drifted to a lectural or documentarial style.

Its so obvious that this series made for makes arabian people hate turkish people depends on non sence lies about history, I hope some of my arabic friends hear and dont let that other countries makes us away. When we look about movie, its really bad production, we can clearly see its only for political games. Loves From Turkey

Shows the true colors and history of the disgusting ottomans shows how many massacres they committed and that all their sultans were nothing but a bunch of blood and sex crazed men

It must be a talent to make such a bad fiction by spending an incredibly large budget... There is pure Arab nationalism and history has been distorted a lot. Arabs must urgently abandon this complex and racism. It's so scary.

This TV show is one of the best Arab production in it's entire history, the roles played by a collection of big names in Arab drama and cinema, The Sultan Selim was played amazingly by Mahmoud Naser His Charisma in this character was breath taking that so you will favor him over Tuman bay, yet our fellow Turkish neighbors disliked it and bashing against it as while I bet they didn't watch it! No one criticized the soft powers of Turkish and their TV series which is full of historical fails that shows their proclaimed glories in a times were such horrors were norms. as if the ottomans were angles brought the Arabs and Europeans and reset of the world, they deny this tv series historical events though it's merely TV series for entertainment not a reliable historical reference as they deny the historical facts of mass murders carried by the ottomans against the Armenians, Kurds,Arabs etc

This show is really bad, they fake the history. Totally wrong history details, great Khaled El Nabawi Actor but really bad story, just fake story. Don't recommend anyone to watch it.

I can say from my point of view after watching 8 eposides that this is one of the top arab series ever... The acting is so emotional specially for Selim even the young Selim he was acting so brilliantly, talman bay "khaled el nabawy" is also a legend in acting. Directing is geeting you into another world that you can't get out of it. Thank you all for presenting such a marvelous series. And i hope to know who will win in the end.

Pick the part of the history you want & leave other parts!!!, Real faces of hypocrites, Ottomans were great part of this Ummah, but some ppl don't like that & pay another lawrence of arabia (british director) to produce this movie!!!...

Well done series with some good acting and drama, battles, subterfuge, scheming. It is a series so no one would expect it to be historically accurate, I dont understand all the one stars for that. What series based on history is like that. It isn't a propoganda piece and doesn't feel forced. Take it for what it is a well made period drama about an era that isnnot usually represented.

It is really a very nice series. It shows an important part of the history in Middle East. The series is not a documentary. And from my experience with the historical series or movies there is always something in the story related to the imagination or interpretation of the screenwriter. And Mamalek el Nar is not an exception. The performance of the actors specially Mahmoud Nasr Khaled and Nabawy, Rashid Assaf and Muna Wasef was amazing. Speciall the performance of Mahmoud Nasr which performs the role of Selima 1.

Turkey is known as a country which denies the mistakes occurred in her history in opposite to many countries in the world, like Germany , France , USA and Japan. Armenian Genocide which was committed by the Ottoman Turks is being denied by Turkey. And every person admits there was a genocide, he is going to be jailed. It is something unbelievable

The series showed the real face of Ottoman empire and Sultan Selim 1. But this something Turkey didn't like it and it was a big reaction against the series in Turkey. Turkey which is selling her series around the world, has always tried to show the history in the way she liked to show. From what they history tells us Sultan Selim 1 was a real brutal and tyranny who has killed close members in his family, like his brothers and his own father.

The brutality in the Ottoman empire was of course not an exception in the humans history. Unfortunately The Turkish movies and series were always trying to deny that. Maybe Turkey has right to lie on her people, but Turkey doesn't have right to lie for the people around the world, specially people like Kurds, Armenians, Greeks and Arabs.

But what can we expect from a country like Turkey where an arrogant and dictator president like (Erdoghan) rules his country with the hand of iron.

I watched the whole show, I really liked how the story was told from another point view, the one that it is not taught in our schools unfortunately. But i gave 1 star to the director and scenario, very very poor events and screenplay, it s 2019 and we still have this kind of screenplays.
