Beautifully rendered tale about the headiness and painfulness that can come with being swept up in sudden intense and seemingly impossible love. Both actresses do a fine job of capturing the range of emotion that exists within that very thin between love and hate - when someone has the power to turn your world inside out, despite yourself. The script is strong with snippets of dialog that realistically encapsulates each characters' inner turmoil - and heavy silences that sometimes speak louder than words. Altogether, Cosa Bella is a professional production complete with great music that helps set the tone for different scenes, great acting all around, a believable yet original storyline, and studio-level filming/editing. I am glad I had the chance to see it when it came to NYC, and now find myself eagerly awaiting the feature!!
Wonderful short film. It should be developed into a feature or series. Fiona has put together a real heart tugging circle of characters. I want to see more. The actors, the camera work, the timing, the edit, the music all splendid. The cast never missed a beat. Such truthful performances. Perfect casting. Fiona's discovery should be further milked. The choices made every step of the way show signs of brilliant team work. The slick camera work never calls attention to itself. It is elegant. Lovely crisp imagery. Vivid. Every shot showed creativity and mastery over the art of directing. Signs of a truly talented film maker. Very impressed.
i saw this movie at outfest in LA and it definitely rose to the top in the shorts presentation. compact, but still effective, the feature quality short goes a long way to prove that you do not need 120 minutes or a multi-million dollar budget to craft an absorbing movie experience.
the storyline is thoughtful and intelligent and it's beautifully directed and shot.
and luckily the two lead actresses are not only gorgeous and easy to watch, but deliver solid performances full of depth and emotion too.
well worth the quick watch!

Cosa Bella is, as the title suggests, very beautiful, indeed! It is a sensitive, bitter-sweet short about the psychological and emotional struggles that two lovers face at a turning point in their relationship. Although the source of the primary dilemma (commitment) is very familiar to any viewer, how it gets played out is quite unique, poignant, and touching. How can a person, at one moment, declare her true love for her lover and fight for the relationship with all that she has and, at the next moment, be dancing and flirting with some random person or other on the dance floor, all the while ignoring her lover? If you'd like to know, please watch Cosa Bella! Fiona MacKenzie's writing and directing are beyond reproach and she produced the entire movie for a fraction of what its quality would suggest. All of the actors are tops (the two leads also appeared in 'The Devil Wears Prada'). I give this short my highest recommendation! What are you waiting for? Go see Cosa Bella!!

It had been a while I hadn't seen any short film with a gay content that I liked, but luckily "Cosa Bella" came to my hands and I actually loved it!. It's great to see characters that are realistic and not stereotypes. Both protagonists are great, and specially the actress Alexie Gilmore who plays Belle. I recommend "Cosa Bella" to anybody that has ever fallen in love with the wrong person, to anybody that has fallen in love with the right person but in the wrong time, to anybody that has fallen in love with the right person at the right time but have not been corresponded, and..........to everybody, because sooner or later you'll end up surrendering to love. Don't run..., don't hide..., Love Will Get You! :)
