In the Soviet Union, motorists would typically keep their windscreen wipers in their glove compartments for fear of having them stolen, as they were hard to come by. Yet in the movie, every single car has its wipers attached.

Instead of moscow - Kharkiv, Ukraine is shown in the movie. around 13:04 - marching pioneers on Freedom Square (former Dzerzhinsy square) with Karazin University in the background. Besides, pioneers weren't routinely marching in public places. Only on special events.

The helicopter in the end of the movie is marked US Army, but it clearly shows a Swedish aircraft registration.

There is a picture of General Secretary L.Breznev on the wall in the border crossing office. Actually the General Secretary was Andropov or Chernenko in that time.

Grigoriev drinks vodka from a glass by small sips. The Russians never drink vodka by sips. They drink it in one shot.

In a scene identified as taking place in April 1981, Grigoriev's son listens to the Queen/David Bowie song "Under Pressure." The song was not recorded until July 1981, released in October 1981.

There is a poster of the movie "We are from the Jazz" on the theater window. This movie came out two years later - in 1983.

About 51:35 - so called dropping off near "metro Smolenskaya" in fact is near metro University in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on famous Freedom Square. Hotel "Kharkiv" is on the left in the background.

The Kiev's subway station "The Golden Gate" is shown as a Moscow's subway station. Actually the station "The Golden Gate" was built 8 years later - in 1989.
