Cathedral Pines

Congratulations to the group at Highland Shore Media for putting this thing together. As a fan of indie-films I was astonished to see a remarkable number of recognizably faces in the film. Peter Scolari does an amazing job in a real dramatic role. Very compelling. Colin Mochrie doesn't have any funny lines, but does a fine job. Peter Tork is brilliant as a schizophrenic street person. John Fiore from the Sopranos has a bit role and there is even an appearance from Robert Dubac (my wife recognized him from her soap). You have to be impressed with the amount of professional talent in such a low-budget experiment. I heard the producer speak at the Northampton Film Festival and the process of putting this together (including a large orchestra / film score) was very innovative. My understanding is that the DVD I have is a new edit with new scenes. Would like to grab the original if it is around

I went to go watch this movie when it premiered in MA, and its just so bad. I'm a young film student and watching films like these educate me on how NOT to make a movie. If i wanted to i could write all day about what was wrong with it. Let me pick out a couple obvious things, the writing is terrible, the dialogue between the characters is clique, the story is horrible and frankly doesn't make a lot of sense. He has these abundance of characters that just spontaneously pop out of nowhere and we are forced to become cathartic with them in their individual stories. Everything in this movie is UNorginale, the acting is terrible except for the Matty Blake whose character just like disappeared and didn't have a lot to do with the plot, and the lead female actress. Overall, the creative people involved with this need to come up with some original and creative ideas, i know they had no money but a good script is needed at least. But hats off to Matty Blake, and i hope the next time around the guys who wrote and direct this come up with some new material.

Wow I was fairly impressed when i saw this movie I found the music and credits were excellent despite some only adequate acting the plot and dialog were good. I found that some of the audio in certain scenes could use tweaking and the end fight scene is somewhat lacking. I think the editing and directing in the movie were very good considering the area. Although it had certain areas that made it seem low budget it overall felt like a real Hollywood movie. My final thought is that considering budget and time frame this was a pretty good movie and I enjoyed a lot. I've ran out of things to say so I'll end now.
