The Navy Caper

I agree with the last reviewer, this episode has some working parts that fall along the lines of MISSION IMPOSSIBLE. At least the villains are fairly clever... Wait and see, and with an ORIGINAL gag ending.

Jeff is hired on by Captain Ivers (played by Simon Scott) to test the high security around a revolutionary computer at a naval base. True, there's a lot of spies in this one, and they are very good at their game. Accordingly, the whole gang joins Spencer on this caper, best of the best is Kookie, going undercover as a seaman.

An early role for young Ellen Burstyn as Betty, and a later role for old timer Addison Richards as Admiral Bensen. Also popular character actor Dick Reeves as a guard. Execeptionally acted, thanks to director Robert Sparr.

Filmed around Warner Brothers, doubling as a navy base in spots. If you watch closely, the cars (with Kookie driving) go around the same buildings and stop in front of what looks to be the WB office buildings, shot at sunset past business hours.

Yes, I agree. According to notes, in the final scene, there is a small box (called the R26) with a tiny plastic hand(?) that resembles THING on the ADDAMS FAMILY. Were the writers of that sitcom inspired by this? Positively amazing.

SEASON 4 EPISODE 13 remastered WB dvd box set. Some sets were remastered in Europe and may not play on American dvd players. Best to check with the seller. Thanks METV for the memories. LOTS.
