I have been waiting since 2006 for this terrific "dromedy" to be released on DVD, without success. But recently, SVT made it available for streaming, and what a joy!
This is a "will they-won't they" relationship drama about being true to yourself. Synth-rocker pals Niklas and Olsson work in a dreary white goods store, when feisty Kicki joins the staff. Niklas has just been dumped by his girlfriend and is desperately trying to win her back, while Kicki just has left her immensely stupid and vain driving instructor husband, who now has a new, stir crazy girlfriend. After a while Niklas and Kicki reluctantly realise they both could do a lot better. But the road to true love is, of course, full of obstacles. Very funny and endearing obstacles indeed.
Ever weirder, ever more surprising situations develop as each episode goes by, but they always feel completely natural. The dialouge is spot on, not a single false note through all the 25 episodes. The characters are truly unique, but still totally believable - and the casting is flawless. It's rarely laugh-out-loud funny, but you watch it with a constant feel-good grin.
How good is it? It is absolutely brilliant in every way. Think of the best "Cold Feet" episode ever, times five - or more. Only two series may seem like a failure, but they had the good sense to quit on top.
