Voodoo Lagoon

Here's a tip: If, en route to your vacation on a far off isle, you're asked to fill in a questionaire that includes the query 'What's Your Worst Fear?', do not wait. Grab the nearest parachute, freefall to the ocean and wait to be picked up by a passing steamer.

Obviously, these dumb-as-a-post teens don't click until it's too late, and their various deaths include spiders, rats, buried alive and castration. It all sounds very nasty, but in this farcical enterprise, it's all rather amusing. The cast includes a guy who looks like a young Jim Carrey, and indeed tries to act like him, but sadly he's not fit to lick the dirt off Jimmy's hi-tops. As for the rest, considering their main standouts are the size of their breasts or pecs, I think we can leave them to one side.

Rarely has a film ever felt as cheap as this one, with shoddy camera-work, bad editing and even terrible sound quality abound. Worse still is the plo... Oh I forgot, there isn't one. Just plenty of running about, with LOTS of portentous dialogue from an old guy with an incredibly annoying voice. Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does... And the climax is a classic example of the scriptwriter just giving up and smearing fecal matter to the page. What a complete load of...

I don't begrudge people going on a free holiday. I just wish they wouldn't pretend on making a film while they're at it. 1/10

Look it's simple if you like a cheap B-Grade horror flick With the standard group of friends drinking and sexing it up You'll get a kick out of this It's a simple B-Grade horror movie about a Group of friends Who go on a holiday to a remote tropical island Not knowing that they have been lured there by the island's evil owner To fulfill an ancient voodoo prophecy It's not bad but it's not great If you don't like Well at least you get to see the the likes of Natalie Blair and her female company skinny dipping lol But being serious it's not that bad it's okay if your into the Horror genre If your a romantic comedy person then don't watch it Because you'll give it a bad review But if you enjoy a B-Grade horror flick you may like it

Class horror flick.

Great horror film that takes the mick out of the genre.

Makes a change from flicks that take themselves too seriously. Really enjoyed this as the voodoo tip was different to the usual slasher plot. Quality ending that made up up for slightly confusing plot. Ironic take on an all too often hackneyed genre made this film interesting and deff worth watching.

Some interesting dialogue and scenes, especially the beach scenes.

Direction was good and would watch again.

Needing a break from their college studies seven young adults decide to travel to a small tropical island for a few days of sun and fun. During the plane ride there they are given a form to fill out which asks a number of questions with one being to list their greatest fear. Although this seems rather odd to them little do they realize that it will have a great impact on them when they finally arrive at their destination. Now rather than reveal any more of this movie and risk spoiling it for those who haven't seen it I will just say that for a rather low-budget type of movie this certainly had potential. The tropical scenery was nice, the story was initially intriguing and there were several attractive women as well. Unfortunately, the plot began to unravel toward the end and the overall lack of suspense and character development began to take its toll as well. All things considered it wasn't necessarily a bad movie but it could have been better. Accordingly, I rate it as slightly below average.

I saw this movie two days ago and really quite liked it. I was surprised to find that nobody at the IMDb had commented on it. So I guess it is up to me to give give my comments.

Voodoo Lagoon is quite an intense film and I like that. The premise and the backdrop of the movie at first seem clichéd; college students, a remote tropical island, an ancient voodoo prophecy. The plot, however, has many twists and turns. Hamilton and Noble both carry off their roles well.

This movie is for people who like horror and thrillers. Whilst not being up there with the likes of the Exorcist, Dawn of the Dead and Hostel, it is worth watching - no classic, but an entertaining little film.
