Mokuleia Beach, where most of the show was shot, was next to a landing strip for parachuters, who would frequently cross frame during filming. And located on the opposite side of the set was a private, nude beach.

Some of the crew and filming locations were shared with the ABC show, "Lost".

The show was originally offered to the Disney Channel because Stan Rogow had done previous work with the Disney channel Series "Lizzie McGuire." But Disney Channel decided not to pick up the series because it didn't 'fit in' with other shows. Stan Rogow then again offered the series to Discovery Kids and they liked the idea and decided to pick up the series.

A local dog named Lucky began showing up on set and hanging out while filming. After lunch he would sleep by the actors' trailers, and eventually became an honorary member of the production crew.

While filming the last episode of Season 2, Corbin Bleu accidentally elbowed Johnny Pacar in the nose, causing him to be taken to the hospital. Johnny, though, stayed in character until the end of the take.
